Growth doesn’t require chaos.
But it does require intentional discomfort.


Pressure is good.
Resistance is good.
That’s how capacity expands.


What’s dangerous is friction that teaches you nothing - the same conversations, the same excuses, the same energy drains.


As the year closes, don’t just reflect.
Decide.


Decide what doesn’t come with you.
Decide where you raise the standard.
Decide how next year looks different - on purpose.


That’s how you make sure you’re not standing in the same place again.

You said you wanted more.

And those things don’t arrive in small packaging.


So life stretches you.
Tests your character.
Checks your ego.

Makes you watch other people win first.


Not to punish you.
But to teach you what winning actually costs.

It’s becoming the type of person
who can hold it
without destroying themselves.


And while the dice is still rolling…


You clap for others.

A jealous spirit can’t carry abundance.

So if you’re in the waiting season, don’t panic.

So if you feel lost, don’t chase a path.
Pursue yourself.
Get healthier. Get calmer. Get stronger. Get honest.


Because when you become aligned…
you stop looking for direction.

Because they’re judging your future
based on your present conditions.

They’re looking at the draft…
and acting like it’s the final version.

But the truth is simple:

Time transforms.

But here’s the part they don’t want to accept:

You are supposed to change.

You are supposed to upgrade.
You are supposed to outgrow the room.

Staying the same so people can feel comfortable around you
is one of the most expensive decisions you can make.

And it always starts subtly.

You start editing yourself.
Softening your ambition.
Making your goals sound smaller.
Shrinking your confidence.
Holding back so nobody feels left behind.

That’s not humility.

That’s fear.

And fear will keep you trapped in “present conditions” forever.

Let me say it clean:

If someone can only respect you when you’re struggling…
they don’t deserve access to you when you’re shining.

Because diamonds don’t get made in comfort.

They get made in pressure.

So if you’re in a hard season right now…

Good.

That means the transformation is working.

And if certain people can’t handle the next version of you…

Let them go.

Not everyone is built to witness someone become extraordinary
without taking it personally.

Don’t argue with them.
Don’t explain yourself.
Don’t beg to be understood.

Just keep building.

Because the same people judging you while you’re coal…
will be the first ones acting like they always saw the diamond.

Stop comparing yourself to people who started earlier.


You’re not late.

2026 vibe: 

You’re not starting over. 
You’re starting wiser.

A lot of people feel pressure at the start of a new year to “reinvent themselves.”

But the truth is — you’re not starting over.
You’re starting from experience.

Most people don’t fail their goals because they aren’t capable.

They fail because they overthink, over-plan, and wait for certainty that never comes.

So here’s a gentler, more realistic way to move into this year:

1️⃣ Pick one direction — not a perfect plan.
Clarity comes from action, not before it.

2️⃣ Shrink the goal until it feels doable today.
Consistency beats intensity every single time.

3️⃣ Decide before doubt shows up.
Doubt is loud when you pause too long.

4️⃣ Stop asking, “What if it doesn’t work?”
Start asking, “What if I grow either way?”

5️⃣ When you don’t know what to do next — just go.
Movement creates momentum.

You don’t need a new personality, a new year, or a new version of yourself.

You just need one honest step forward — and then another.

Wherever this year takes you, I hope you let yourself try.

You might surprise yourself.✨

You can’t serve from an empty bowl.🤍

As this year comes to a close, I’m being reminded of something I’ve learned again and again -
when I neglect my basics, everything feels harder.

When life gets full (and let’s be honest… when isn’t it), it can be tempting to push through, skip meals, rush rest, and put ourselves last. But I’ve learned the hard way that doing so doesn’t just affect my energy — it impacts my mood, my focus, my nervous system, and my ability to show up fully in my life.

When my schedule is especially full, I gently check in with myself and return to the foundations that keep me grounded and thriving:

• adequate, restorative sleep 💤 
• nourishing, whole foods 🍓 
• daily movement (lots of it, in my case) 💪🏼
• hydration 💧
• time for stillness, creativity, and joy 🧘🏼‍♀️

This is what holistic wellness looks like for me — not perfection, but consistency with the basics.

✨ END-OF-YEAR TIP:

One of the simplest ways I support my health when life is busy is by preparing nutrient-dense meals in larger batches. Big, colorful salads and nourishing bowls are my go-to. I portion leftovers into containers so future-me has something grounding and supportive ready to go.

That’s my kind of “fast food.” 🥗😉

As I step into a new year, my intention is simple:
to stay nourished, regulated, and well - so I can give from a place of fullness, not depletion.

I can't help but to have a huge smile on my face today. This past week has been an especially positive and progressive one.✨ 

It's also been a beautiful time of reflection of my own journey and evolution. A profound feeling came through to me of surrender, one I am very familiar with especially as of lately.💫 

Significantly in the past few months of my life I've been focused on letting go of the people and things (and beliefs!) that are not aligned with me.💓 

An incredible thing happens when you are willing to let go and let God work his wonder in your life. You automatically create space for the people and things that are in complete alignment with you and the direction of your divine plan.✝️🕊 

I'm feeling such a sense of gratitude and look forward to all that's to come.🙏 

Today's affirmation:

I didn’t lose weight with extremes — no starving, no two-a-days, no cutting carbs. I focused on habits I could actually keep for life. 

These 6 things helped me slim down ✨naturally✨:

1. Daily walks — start with just 30 minutes.
✨Getting outside and walking every day helps me clear my mind, reduce stress, and burn fat without even thinking about it. I log 20k+ steps minimum daily between my walking pad/indoors and outdoors and it’s changed my body and life. Strolling over scrolling.

2. One protein shake a day and 
✨Having a protein shake as my first meal with at least 25 grams of protein helps me stay full longer, fight cravings, and actually eat less without trying. Tea and electrolytes are my other go-to tools when I’m busy or tempted to snack. My favourite delicious and nutritious pro powder is Blessed Protein in all of their dessert flavours. 3. Low-impact workouts 3–5x a week.
✨Pilates, stretching, and light strength training with ankle/wrist weights helps me tone up without burning out. No joint pain, no crazy cardio — just consistent movement. Lean > lazy. I have free stretching and Pilates on my YouTube channel: www.youtube.com/mandyjross

4. Portion control, not restriction.
✨I stopped labeling foods “bad” and instead focused on how much I was eating. I still enjoy my favorite meals—just in balanced, mindful portions. You cannot out train a calorie surplus diet. And I also eat mindfully. Think satisfied over stuffed.

5. High-fiber foods every day.
✨Fiber helps me stay fuller, longer. Think: oats, chia seeds, veggies, berries. My digestion has improved and my cravings dropped like crazy. I also love adding a spoonful of psyllium husks to my shake (Mother Nature’s Metamucil). 

6. A deep sleep recovery.
✨I stopped glorifying hustle and started prioritizing sleep. It balanced my hormones, improves recovery, and boosts fat loss without extra effort. I also especially find with my ADHD + ASD brain a good night’s rest has me feeling my best mentally and physically.

When life gets you down it can be easy to beat yourself up internally and to focus on the negative. I've learned to turn any situation into one that can be of service to me and my self growth. 

I decided to shift my mindset into believing that every incidence is given to me especially meant for me to learn from, regardless of the circumstances. I began being thankful for every opportunity that arose, as I knew that each one was helping me to become a stronger, wiser and more resilient individual.

Hi. It's been a 'lil while since I've done a post like this and with so many new people in this positive community, I figured it would nice to share a 'lil bit more about me.

I'm Mandy. I'm 5'6 (though my mirror photos tend to make me look taller) and it's been ages since I stepped on a scale so I couldn't tell you my current weight.🤷‍♀️ Most days I feel amazing but I also have days when I don't feel my best and have to push myself more and give myself some extra self love and kindness. I eat a healthy, balanced diet most of the time but don't stress when I want to have treat. I don't count calories, macros, or have 'bulk,' 'cut' or 'diet' seasons. I don't binge on cheat meals all one day and starve myself the other days of the week. I don't punish myself for having something extra indulgent. I train hard and am super active most days of the week but sometimes other priorities come up. 

I try my best to live a life of BALANCE as I believe 'fit' is not a destination but a way of life, as a holistic health coach. And this mindset stems to all areas, not just health and fitness. I check in with myself to make sure I'm devoting time and energy to all areas that are important to me, and that extends far past the gym. One of my biggest beliefs is that holistic health practices are the solution and nutrition in particular can play such a significant role in healing us mentally and physically. The kitchen can be the greatest FARM-acy and your diet can be the greatest medicine for your body and brain.🧠💪🏼 

While I'm a highly motivated individual and love to learn, grow and progress, I also believe life is meant to be enjoyed not endured so you won't find me doing anything that I don't feel is aligned for me health trend or other wise even if it goes against popular opinion. 

It's taken me years -- and many experiences, both wins and lessons learned! -- to develop balance in my life, mindset and body. And no, I can't chalk up my physical body shape to genetics or spending 24/7 in a gym because I don't. While I'm happy where I'm at, I'm still human and will always be a work in progress. 

Wherever you're at on your journey start by making one change today that helps you live healthier, happier, more balanced. Whether it's taking a few minutes to breathe, calling up a loved one to connect, or going for a brisk walk outside. Even if it feels small, baby steps are what lead to roads of success. What may feel like a mountain today will eventually become the view that was worth the climb.🙏🏻

Overtime, I've realized the importance of this philosophy and its direct link to internal happiness. 

Having compassion and forgiveness for yourself and others is key in this lifelong learning journey.

You are not the "story of your past" you keep telling yourself. It's okay to mess up along the way, how else will you learn? 

No one is perfect, regardless of how their life may look to the outside. Everyone has things they can work on.

And no one needs to understand your journey but you.

Having struggled with perfectionism in my past (shout out to all my fellow “recovering perfectionists” 😉)I can tell you first hand how incredibly liberating it is when you allow yourself the freedom to let go of the mindset that you have to do something perfectly. 

It literally feels like a weight of pressure is lifted from whatever you are doing. 

Performing your best is what matters. 

You have everything you need to succeed and you are enough, just as you are. 

So keep moving forward with your head up, your heart open and your spirit free.🌟

Winter always reminds me that nourishment isn’t about perfection -

When the days are darker and motivation is low, the last thing most of us need is complicated rules or restrictive plans. What we do need is something simple that supports our energy, blood sugar, and nervous system — without effort.

These are my “Love Bites” 🍪

Soft, naturally sweet, and made with ingredients that actually give back to your body.

I love recipes like this because they:
• support steady energy
• satisfy sweet cravings gently
• take almost no mental effort
• feel comforting without the crash

Save this for a low-energy day or make a batch to surprise someone you love — it’s one of my favourite ways to add warmth to winter.

🍪 LOVE BITES RECIPE 🍪

Ingredients

• 1 cup oats (quick-cooking works best)
• 1 ripe banana
• ½ tsp cinnamon
• 2 Tbsp dried cranberries (or any dried fruit)
• 1 Tbsp walnuts
• 1 Tbsp stevia-sweetened chocolate chips (optional)
• 1 dash of love 🤍

Directions

Preheat oven to 350°F
Mash banana and oats together until combined
Mix in remaining ingredients
Scoop into ~12 small bites
Bake ~20 minutes, until bottoms are lightly golden

Simple. Cozy. Nourishing.

But traditional wellness isn’t built for neurodivergent brains.

What actually helped me wasn’t more rules — it was learning how to regulate my nervous system and work with my brain, not against it.

Here are a few gentle tools that made a real difference:

Nervous system regulation:
• slow, intentional walking
• deep exhale breathing
• consistent protein intake
• predictable morning routines
• reducing overstimulation

Somatic practices:
• grounding through movement
• body scanning
• gentle stretching
• tapping or pressure techniques
• reconnecting to physical sensations

You don’t need more motivation.
You need safety, regulation, and clarity.

As someone who loves to eat as much as I love being active, I enjoy learning about the effects that foods have on the body. For years I've passionately studied nutrition and diet and the correlation they have to health, longevity and prevention. 

I especially find it fascinating and beneficial to know how and which specific foods have a direct influence on moods and emotions, especially as a neurodivergent individual.

Some “good mood foods” according to research are:
* Coconuts 🥥 
* Salmon 🍣 
* Spinach and other greens 🥬 
* Dark Chocolate 🍫 - at least 70% cacao... shocker😉
* Chia Seeds 
* Avocados 🥑 
* Oysters 🦪 
* Green Tea 🍵 
* Walnuts 
* Shiitake Mushrooms 🍄 

Lately I've been loving this salad recipe that is a delicious mood booster: 
-shredded multi coloured cabbage and carrots 🥕 
-chopped fresh cilantro 
-diced avocado 🥑 
-crushed raw walnuts (pecans and cashews are yummy alternatives)
-non-dairy cheese (I use @DaiyaFoods) 🧀 
-chopped dates (or cranberries) if I want a little extra natural sweetness
-fresh ground black pepper 

Toss all ingredients and pair with a side of lean protein for a complete meal. 🥗😍
