"To Be Successful, You Have to Be Shameless and Stubborn"

I’ve learned that success rarely 
comes to the quiet observer.

It finds those who are a little 
shameless and a little stubborn.

📌 Shameless enough to raise their hand, 
even when they’re not fully ready.

📌 Stubborn enough to stay the course, 
even when the applause fades.

I’ve had seasons in my career 
where I felt underqualified for 
what I wanted next.

But I asked anyway. 
I reached out anyway.

Sometimes the answer was “no".
Sometimes it was silence.
But each time, I gained 

➡️ Clarity, 
➡️ Confidence, 
➡️ and one more layer of Courage.

When I first switched roles into tech, 
it wasn’t a smooth leap. 
It was a slow, messy climb.

I had to prove what I could do long 
before anyone paid attention.
That meant;

➡️ Showing up, 
➡️ Creating, 
➡️ Experimenting, 
➡️ Volunteering, 
➡️ and Finding ways to add value where I was.

And honestly? 
That’s where the growth happened, 
not in the easy wins, but in the quiet 
persistence of trying again.

Even with Anutio, 
there were moments that 
tested that stubbornness.

Building something new 
often means walking a road 
nobody else has cleared for you yet.

But every “no” became data.
Every detour became direction.

If there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s this:

My younger brother once taught 
me a subject I didn’t understand.

Yes! my brother, who was three
 classes behind me. 😅

I remember sitting there, 
a little embarrassed at first, 
but quickly realizing how 
much sense he made.

In that moment, I learned something

Not All Advice Should Be Followed

In 2019, someone told me:

 “Ehi, you’re too much."
"You need to tone it down.”

At the time, I didn’t fully know how to respond.

I was the girl with the bold brown hairstyles, 
the kind people whispered about in hallways.

✔️ The one who asked “too many questions,” 
✔️ spoke with conviction, 
✔️ and showed up with ideas that 
felt bigger than my job title.

And I remember thinking, maybe they’re right.
Maybe if I toned it down a little, I’d fit in better.

But here’s what I’ve learned since then:

📌 Sometimes, people don’t mean 
to shrink you, they just can’t 
handle your full volume.

➡️ That boldness they call “too much” 
might actually be your difference.
➡️ The curiosity they find “disruptive” 
might be your superpower.

And the version of you they’re 
uncomfortable with might be 
the exact one that opens doors 
you’ve been praying for.

If I had listened back then, 
I probably wouldn’t be doing 
half of what I do now; 
🔹lecturing,
🔹mentoring,
🔹building Anutio,
🔹and helping people find
their voice in their careers.

✅I kept the hairstyles.
✅I kept asking questions.

And somehow, those very things 
that made me “too much” became 
the things that set me apart.

🎯So here’s my little reminder to you:

✅ Not every advice deserves obedience.
✅ Filter it. 
✅ Keep what builds you.
✅ Release what boxes you in.

Show Up.

The World Can’t Celebrate What It Can’t See.

For a long time, I struggled with showing up.
Not the physical kind, 
I was present in meetings, 
volunteered for things, 
did great work.

But I kept my achievements quiet.
Because I didn’t want to sound 
like I was bragging.

Because “the work should speak for itself,” right?

Except  it doesn’t.

It whispers.
And most times, no one’s even listening.

I remember the first time I shared 
one of my milestones publicly.
It was about being recognized for a program. 
I almost didn’t post it.
But when I did, something shifted.

➡️ People reached out.
➡️ Opportunities came in.

And it wasn’t because I suddenly became “better.”
It was because I became visible.

Since then, I’ve learned that; 
❌ Showing up isn’t arrogance, 
✔️ It’s accountability to your own growth.

✅ Talking about your achievements creates 
room for others to see what’s possible.

Because that one post could:
🔹 Inspire someone who’s just starting out.
🔹 Attract a collaborator who’s been 
looking for what you do.
🔹 Remind you how far you’ve 
come on days you forget.

opened for me from being invited

all started because I showed up and shared.

here’s what you need to stop doing...

I talk to professionals every day who feel stuck.
They’ve been in their roles for 2 - 3 years.
🔹They work hard. 
🔹They meet their targets.
And yet… no promotion.

When I ask what they’ve tried, 
the answer is always the same:

“I'm just hoping my work speaks for itself.”

That’s the biggest career myth.

Here are 4 things to stop doing 
if you want to get promoted:

1. Stop waiting to be noticed.
People are busy. 
Your manager has their own goals.
If you don’t advocate for yourself, 
you’ll stay in the background.

2. Stop focusing only on execution.
Promotion isn’t about output, 
it’s about impact.
Start asking: 
"What value did this task create?"

3. Stop avoiding uncomfortable conversations.
You’ll need to ask:
➡️ “What does success look like

➡️ “What gaps should I close to 
be considered?”

4. Stop assuming more hours = more value.
Strategic contribution > working overtime.

I emphasized something
I’ve learned over time:

You may be one person out of thousands 
who thinks your idea is worth pursuing 
but that conviction is your superpower.

Be stubborn about your purpose, 
open-minded about the process, 
and bold enough to take risks.

Three signs you're not ready to be a manager yet.

Most people think being a manager 
is about a title, it’s not. 
It’s about mindset.

✅ If you blame others when 
things go wrong… you’re not ready. 
Leaders own the wins and the losses.

✅ If you avoid hard conversations… 
you’re not ready. 
Growth requires honesty, not people-pleasing.

✅ And the real test: if you can’t 
delegate… you’re not ready. 
Leaders don’t do everything themselves, 
they empower others.

Management isn’t about control.
It’s about responsibility, courage, 
and the ability to multiply your

You won’t always know what’s next and that’s okay

I used to think successful careers 
were built on certainty.
Now I know, they’re built on courage.

🔹Courage to try something new.
🔹Courage to start over.
🔹Courage to keep showing up 
even when your path feels unclear.

I thought I wanted to be on the trading floor

At some point, 
➡️ I wanted to be a portfolio manager
➡️ Later I thought I wanted to be in Market Risk
➡️ Then it was cybersecurity,
➡️ Later it was Digital Marketing.

And I experimented and tried out all of them.
Either through a 9-5
Or through freelancing or supporting a startup.

Some I hated. 
But each one added a layer of expertise
And unique perspectives that 
made me standout in the next role

When I left Risk Management 
to explore Tech, I was terrified.
I worried I’d wasted time. 
That I’d have to prove myself all over again.

But that season taught me 
something I hold close:

✅ Clarity comes through 
movement, not waiting.

📌 I landed my first product role 
because of my ability to initiate things.

✔️ You can't fake it if you don't have it.
And it came through in my interviews.

Every experience, 
even the uncomfortable ones 
shaped who I am and how I lead today.

That’s what inspired Anutio to

☑️ Get into the art of DOING INSTEAD OF WAITING

We’ve all seen it; 
A new technology pops up, 
and for the first few years, 
businesses treat it like a fun novelty; a "toy".

For the past year or so, 
we’ve been playing around with AI, 
and testing the waters. 

That period of low-stakes experimentation 
is rapidly coming to an end. 

The serious "tool phase", where 
AI becomes foundational, critical, 
and non-negotiable for efficiency 
and survival is coming, and it will be 
brutal for the businesses that haven't prepared.

The time to ask the hard questions is now, 
not five years from now when 
you're scrambling to catch up.

We need to shift our focus from 
"Should we use AI?"

“For someone who doesn’t like people, you sure have a very people-centered job.”

— A friend, summing me up perfectly.

For years, I thought I was just... different. 

I didn’t dislike people.

But I found the idea of constant interaction overwhelming. 

Yet, I had close friends and valued deep connections.

So the issue wasn’t with people at all.

It turns out, there’s a word for this: 

Introvert.

When I stepped into leadership, that same friend made the above comment.

And for a moment, I believed them. 

After all, leadership is often seen as a role for the loud, outgoing, and “always-on” types. 

But over time, I realized that being introverted isn’t a barrier to leading.

It’s an asset.

I’ve embraced my strengths as an introverted, empathetic, and people-focused leader. 

Along the way, I’ve learned that leadership isn’t about fitting into a mold.

It’s about authenticity, connection, and care.

I started sharing my journey on LinkedIn for three reasons:

1. To step outside my comfort zone.
2. To remind others who feel “different” that they’re not alone.
3. To create meaningful conversations with like-minded leaders.

So, here I am:

Can kindness and leadership really coexist?
I used to wonder about that too.

Because leadership often gets wrapped in words like:

Tough.
Strategic.
Decisive.

And somewhere along the way, kindness started to sound like a weakness.

But the longer I led, the more I realized that the best leaders I’ve ever known were never the toughest. 
They were the ones who made you feel safe to speak up.
Who held people accountable without stripping them down.
Who could make hard calls, but still care for you.

Kindness doesn’t cancel out strength.
It shapes it.
It builds trust.
And mostly, it reminds people that they matter, no matter how hard things are.

You don’t have to choose between being kind and being a strong leader.
You can be both.
You should be both.

Have you ever been led by someone who proved that kindness works?
What did they do differently?

Leading without the mask | Making space for others to shine | Burn the scripts. Keep the people.

Ever notice how some leaders always end up being the busiest person in the room?
Yes, I was one of them.

You get promoted, and suddenly it’s like you’re carrying the weight of the whole world.
You start solving every problem.
Jumping into every meeting.
Fixing every detail your team “doesn’t have time” for.

It feels like the right things to do.
After all, that’s what they told us.
Always being present.
Always available.
Always in a hurry.

But, if we keep leading like that we cause more harm then growth.
Your team relies on you instead of learning.
Your strategy takes a backseat because you’re stuck in the weeds.
And burnout starts creeping in slowly, until you no longer notice that you are running on fumes.

But leadership shouldn't mean doing more.
It’s should be about making space.
Space for others to think, to decide, and to grow.

So if you’ve been too busy lately,  maybe it’s time to ask yourself:
Are you actually leading...or just managing tasks at a higher level?

We don’t need another leadership model. 
We need a space to be honest.

It took me way too long to realize that speaking up (and yes, even oversharing) isn’t something to fear.

Especially when you’ve found the right people.
The ones who don’t step back when things get real.

But how do you find them?
Who’s safe to talk to when everything feels too heavy?
Who won’t judge you for being tired, unsure, or just human?

That question stayed with me.
And a few weeks ago, I even shared that I was creating a space for it, for leaders in the middle.

The ones holding it all together without being seen.
And while the idea still lives in me,
life (and a new project) needed more of my energy right now.

So the session will have to wait.
But the mission is still there.

To bring the human back into leadership.
To make space for the real conversations.
To remind anyone stuck in the middle, you’re not alone.

I’ve been pretty quiet on here lately.
And you guessed right, there's a reason for that.

Those who know me know that I've always been up for two things:
Helping people.
And challenging the way middle management is perceived.
Those passions will always stay.

But since resigning, I finally had the time to slow down.
To reflect.
To ask myself what’s next and why I should bet on me.

So today, I’m beyond happy (and a little nervous) to share that...

I’ve officially launched my business, called Wanderlust Abruzzo.
Supporting expats who want to relocate to this beautiful region of Italy and helping them feel at home here.

This is a big new beginning for me.
A completely different chapter.
One I didn’t see coming a year ago.

And yes, you’ll see the occasional update about it here.
(How could I not?)

But my second passion, leadership, the human side of work, isn’t going anywhere.

I’ll still be here talking about it.
Challenging old beliefs.
Creating space for the leaders who quietly hold everything together.
It will just happen at a slightly different rhythm while I build this new thing.

And I’m excited to bring you with me.
