Jeff Bezos just put $6.2 billion into a new bet on the future of the physical world, and most people still haven’t grasped how big this could be.

The project is called Project Prometheus.

This isn’t another chatbot or a productivity toy. It’s AI built for factories, rockets, vehicles, and real hardware. The kind of work you can touch, assemble, test, and launch.

Prometheus has a single focus: helping engineers and manufacturers design, simulate, and build complex systems in aerospace, automotive, and advanced computing at speeds no human team can match.

Think less about software that writes emails and more about an AI that designs a rocket engine, runs thousands of simulations overnight, and hands the results directly to a fully automated production line.

And Bezos isn’t watching from a distance.

He’s stepping back into an active leadership role as co-CEO, partnering with Vik Bajaj, a physicist and former Google X leader involved in several major moonshot projects.

Prometheus starts with:
• A massive $6.2 billion budget on day one
• A team pulled from OpenAI, DeepMind, Meta, Microsoft, Nvidia, and other top labs, with deep experience in robotics and physical-world AI

When you zoom out, a bigger trend becomes clear:
• Musk is pushing xAI and Tesla’s Optimus to reinvent factory automation
• Zuckerberg is backing embodied AI that can perceive and act in real environments
• Google is warming up its robotics and experimental R&D again
• Now Bezos is returning with an AI model that learns not from internet text, but from experiments, sensors, machinery, and materials

This is the rise of AI that actually builds things.

AI that can:
• Guide the entire product lifecycle from concept to simulation to production
• Coordinate fleets of robots that assemble hardware or maintain infrastructure
• Support Bezos’s long-term vision of developing space habitats and off-Earth industry

Prometheus fits perfectly alongside Blue Origin. An AI that can build on Earth can also build on the Moon, Mars, and anywhere else humanity decides to go.

Think of this as the next major phase of AI:
- AI that reads and writes
- AI that reasons and codes

A viral theory can spark conversation, but good science demands evidence.

Deepinder Goyal recently shared his “Gravity Ageing” idea, suggesting that our lifespan is shaped by how gravity affects blood flow and posture. He even claimed bats live longer because they hang upside down, and that human ageing is tied to standing upright. The problem is simple: there isn’t a single peer-reviewed study that supports any of this. Ageing researchers have dismissed it, and honestly, so do I.

Jitendra Chouksey, CEO of FITTR, summed it up perfectly. He called it “sci-fi marketing, not science,” and his post breaks down the flaws point by point. As he explained, plenty of long-lived animals never hang upside down. Parrots can outlive many mammals, tortoises reach a century or more, Greenland sharks live for centuries, and none of that has anything to do with posture or gravitational orientation. Lifespan varies across species for reasons rooted in genetics, metabolism, reproduction strategies, and evolutionary pressures, not the angle at which you sleep.

I've been reading a lot since a past few days about all data and evidence JC brought to light. Real longevity research focuses on genomic stability, DNA repair, mitochondrial health, cellular housekeeping, inflammation pathways, calorie-related metabolism and what not. These are the mechanisms that have been studied for decades. They are not replaced by gadgets, slogans, or shortcuts. If someone wants to spark curiosity about science, great, but that curiosity should lead to real data, not marketing funnels.

This is why I stand with JC. Claims about ageing need to be backed by evidence, peer review, and actual biology, not viral theories designed to sell a product. Innovation is cool, fooling isn't.

Strong opinions can get people talking, but good science is what actually moves us forward.

We live in dangerous times. When I forwarded Deepinder’s “gravity theory of aging” to Dr Lauren Colenso, a scientist who actually works in this field, she joked that she wanted to delete her social media.

The problem isn’t the hypothesis. Anyone can propose a hypothesis. The problem is the way it’s been packaged as revelation, pushed through PR, and backed by zero data. It reads like sci-fi marketing designed to likely sell a gadget that improves/monitors blood flow to the brain! 

He rests the entire hypothesis on four “clues.”

1. Bats hang upside down so they live longer.
This falls apart instantly. Parrots have similar or longer lifespans without hanging upside down. Most vertebrates and marine animals have wildly different lifespans regardless of orientation. 

2. Short people live longer.
Not true. Indian men average ~165 cm and women ~152 cm. Our life expectancy sits around 68–72 years. Dutch men average ~183 cm and their life expectancy is around 82. The claim doesn’t survive the simplest cross-country comparison.

3. Ancient yoga poses.
His first slide says “backed by science” and then he immediately uses an appeal-to-tradition argument. If that’s the standard, every historical belief becomes “evidence” for pseudoscience! 

4. Blood flow to the brain declines with age.
Correct, but there’s no evidence it’s caused by gravity. Ageing independently affects vascular elasticity, endothelial function, nitric-oxide signalling and capillary density. If gravity were the key driver, children wouldn’t grow taller in the first place. Are we supposed to believe gravity kicks in only after a certain age?

He then claims he “tried to disprove his own theory for two years” and couldn’t. Meanwhile, the unanswered questions above collapse the entire idea. He also claims that a 6-week trial using inversion tables increased brain blood flow by 7 percent and reversed a decade of age-related blood flow decline. That’s a medical claim. He needs to held accountable for this claim!

And we’ve all seen the leaked photos of the gold-plated temple device, plus the trademark filings. The commercial angle isn’t subtle. The device will likely be called “Temple”

All in all, this theory insults the work of scientists who actually study ageing: genomic stability, DNA repair, mitochondrial decline, proteostasis, epigenetic drift, stem-cell exhaustion. None of these processes have any evidence linking them to Earth’s gravitational field. Zero.

I was told not to talk about this and I promised I wouldn’t. But I can’t sit quietly while pseudoscience is dressed up as innovation and sold to people who’ve lost critical thinking ability. I’d rather walk away than be part of that. This is not science. This is plain deception.

If deepinder has any integrity, he’d release the 6 week study and raw data for peer review before making outlandish claims.
