Niki’s role is pivotal. At the forefront of Western Canada’s surety market, she blends strategic acumen with genuine warmth — a rare mix that builds trust and lasting relationships. That very balance of strength and authenticity is exactly what I set out to capture through my lens.

Within that, the Surety Division plays a critical role: helping contractors, developers, and businesses move projects forward with confidence. I recently had the pleasure of photographing a new series of professional headshots for Refrigerative Supply Limited (RSL) — one of Canada’s most respected names in the HVAC and Refrigeration industry.

Recently, I had the privilege of photographing the executive team at Carlson Construction Group — and from the first click of the shutter, their pride and purpose were unmistakable.

For over 50 years, Carlson has been shaping British Columbia’s industrial and marine landscape — with craftsmanship, innovation, and heart. Founded in 1971 by Gord Carlson, the company has grown into one of the province’s largest specialty contractors, serving heavy civil, industrial, marine, and deep foundation projects across Western Canada.

Still family-owned and operated, Carlson continues to thrive under the leadership of Gord and his adult children — each playing an active role in carrying the legacy forward. As we pause this Remembrance Day on 11 November, I am deeply grateful to call Canada home and to live in a nation built on freedom, dignity and respect. 🇨🇦
 Every year at 11 a.m., Canadians stop for two minutes of silence to remember those who served and defended our way of life. 

To the veterans, those who bravely served—thank you. Your courage and self-sacrifice quieted guns and secured the peace in which we now thrive. Because of you, we walk freely, speak safely, and live our daily lives with hope and purpose. 

Here in the North Shore—North Vancouver, West Vancouver and the greater Vancouver region—it’s especially meaningful to reflect, to gather at memorials, to wear the poppy, and to remember our neighbours, our friends, the families touched by service.

In my work as a photographer I often meet people who are building their personal and professional identities. As I reflect today, I’m reminded that freedom to express ourselves, to pursue our passions, and to connect meaningfully with others is rooted in the contributions of those who came before us. We’re fortunate to live in this great country—and it’s our responsibility, too, to honour the legacy by lifting one another, living with purpose and upholding the values of inclusion and community.

So today, I thank all who served, all who support our veterans, and all who continue the work of peace. Let’s remember together, in quiet gratitude and active appreciation.
