But here's what actually works:

Divide and conquer. She runs her side. I run mine. We don't step on each other's toes. Much.

Fight at the office, not at dinner. When we leave work, we leave work. Most of the time.

Trust the other person's calls. Even when you would've done it differently.

Celebrate the small wins together. Nobody else understands what it took to land that client at 11pm on a Sunday. Your spouse does.

1 in 4 small businesses are run by couples. Most people think that's crazy. I think it's the ultimate trust exercise.

Singapore just got ranked the least flirtatious city in Southeast Asia.

My wife showed me the headline.

We both just nodded.

Here's the thing though.

I've watched couples at restaurants not make eye contact for 45 minutes straight. Phones out. Nothing to say. Just two people sharing a table and a bill.

That's not a Singapore problem. That's a complacency problem.

We stopped flirting in the traditional sense years ago.

What replaced it was something quieter. Inside jokes nobody else gets. A look across the room that says everything. Showing up on the hard days without being asked.

Singapore couples aren't unromantic.

We just express it differently.

Less flirting. More showing up.

Less butterflies. More building.

The couples I admire most aren't the ones who still act like they're dating.

They're the ones who chose each other again.

Every single day.

Without making a big deal out of it.

The government just caught up to what I've been doing for months. Singapore's new National AI Council is a signal every HR leader should pay attention to.

Budget 2026 just dropped. PM Wong announced a National AI Council. He's chairing it himself. That's not a committee. That's a statement.

They're launching AI missions in manufacturing, finance, healthcare, and connectivity. The message is clear. AI isn't a "nice to have" anymore. It's national strategy.

Here's why HR should be paying attention:

When the government moves this fast, companies follow. And when companies follow, the first question every CEO asks is "do we have the people for this?"

That question lands on HR's desk.

Not IT. Not engineering. HR.

Because the skills gap isn't about code. It's about knowing how to work alongside AI. How to manage it. How to build teams where humans and agents work together.

I've been running AI agents in my business for months. Onboarding them like employees. Giving them KPIs. Reviewing their work daily.

Most companies haven't started.

The ones that have? They're not scrambling right now. They're ready.

Budget 2026 just made AI literacy a national priority. If it's not on your L&D roadmap yet, you're already behind.

The question isn't whether AI is coming for your industry. The PM just told you it is.

My son asked me what I do at work.

I told him I organise big parties for companies.

He asked if my computer helps.

I said yes.

He asked if the computer was my friend.

I paused.

"Sort of. It does a lot of work for me so I can come home earlier."

He thought about it.

"That's a good friend."

Kids simplify things in ways adults forget to.

I got into business to build something that worked. Not to be consumed by it.

For years the business consumed me anyway.

The last six months have been different.

Not because I work less. Because the work that needed me is a smaller percentage of the total work.

The rest runs.

My son doesn't know what an AI agent is.

But he knows I'm at more of his football matches than I used to be.

That's the only metric that matters to him.
