Venture Scholar

A square trying to fit a round hole is how I would best describe my experience in ETS.

I any case I didn't completely waste my time:

 - I improved a lot using the Python API for Plaxis
 - I finally mastered structural design that was lagging behind
 - Drafting structural drawings was also a cool experience
 - I had the time to work on some interesting articles mixing civil engineering and Pyhton
 - ultimately I felt so bad with myself being an employee that I decided to launch my consulting business

At Studio Geotecnico Italiano I had the chance to get involved in the design and the construction of a variety of different things:

 - Geotechnical design for onshore industry
 - Infrastructural projects (highways, bridge)
- Offshore and marine works (foundations, quays and causeways)
- Landfill and waste storage depots
-  Skyscrapers

Some interesting things I did:

- getting involved in the construction of a bridge in Denmark and acting as liaison manager
- I learned coding Python by myself and organised a short course for collegues

Geotechnical Engineer

3SR Grenoble

This is the continuation of my Master in Geomechanics.
After the courses, I landed a research work project in 3SR Laboratoire at the university. 
I worked both in the lab doing some experiments running the campaign and validating a numerical model in the office. The project aimed to validate some of the use of a particular foundation type for tidal turbines.

In one of my Medium articles, I wrote about this experience and how it contributed to shaping my interest in Python programming.

The title of my thesis was so long that I forgot it.

For six months I worked as an intern 1 day per week.
I was assigned to support the definition of a conceptual site model for a polluted site, a gas station spilling tank.
From this experience, I learnt how to use QGIS and in general the importance of geospatial application, I passion I will bring with me in the years coming.

From the last year of high to the last year of university before moving to Grenoble I trained a group of kids ranging from 13 to 16 years old two times per week. I had fun and learned how to keep people interested and engaged.

Being an engineer with a technical background, my mission is to make venture capital from technologist to technologist. Having in-depth knowledge to understand the technology involved in a company is one of the most significant gaps often separating founders from investors.
