Product Development Specialist / Design Team Member

CHOICE Humanitarian

During my internship in Bolivia, I had the privilege of contributing to transformative projects aimed at improving the lives of rural communities. Working alongside dedicated teams, I played a vital role in implementing sustainable solutions to address fundamental needs.

One of the primary initiatives I was involved in was the installation of running water systems in remote communities. Witnessing the profound impact of access to clean water firsthand was both humbling and inspiring. From assisting with the logistical aspects of the installations to engaging with community members and fostering a sense of empowerment, I embraced the opportunity to be part of a project that brought essential resources to those in need.

In addition to water projects, I had the opportunity to share knowledge and expertise in sustainable agriculture practices. Collaborating with community members, I facilitated workshops on greenhouse construction and cultivation techniques designed to ensure food security year-round. Teaching individuals how to effectively utilize greenhouses not only provided them with a reliable source of nutrition but also empowered them to take control of their own food production in a sustainable and environmentally friendly manner.

My internship experience in Bolivia was profoundly rewarding, as it allowed me to witness the tangible impact of community-driven development initiatives. From installing vital infrastructure to empowering individuals with the knowledge and tools to thrive, I am grateful for the opportunity to have contributed to positive change in rural communities.

As an intern with Cariloha, I had the exciting opportunity to serve as the friendly face welcoming tourists into our store. Greeting visitors with warmth and enthusiasm, I provided a personalized shopping experience, guiding them through our diverse selection of high-quality products. Whether it was showcasing the luxurious feel of our bamboo-based merchandise or highlighting special promotions, I took pride in helping customers discover items that perfectly suited their needs and preferences.

Beyond assisting customers, I played a crucial role in maintaining the store's inventory and presentation. Each night, I diligently restocked shelves and ensured that our displays remained attractive and organized, ready to greet new visitors the following day. Additionally, I gained hands-on experience in store operations, participating in opening and closing procedures and efficiently managing the cashier box during peak times.

Through my internship at Cariloha, I honed my customer service skills, learned the importance of attention to detail in retail merchandising, and developed a strong understanding of the daily operations that drive success in the retail industry. It was a rewarding experience contributing to the positive atmosphere of our store and leaving a lasting impression on every visitor who walked through our doors.

Specializing in catering to Nonprofit organizations partnered with our National Parks in the USA, I take pride in establishing meaningful connections.

In addition to my sales role, I play a pivotal role in product development. As a creative mind, I design engaging lines of t-shirts, hats, stickers, and accessories tailored for different territories, ensuring our sales reps have the perfect tools to represent our brand. Being fluent in Spanish and Portuguese adds an extra layer to my ability to connect with diverse audiences.

Frequent participation in trade shows allows me to stay at the forefront of industry trends and connect with stakeholders. I am an active contributor to the product development team, where my ideas and keen sense of design contribute to shaping the direction of our brand.
