With over 15 years in ecommerce strategy and development, I help manufacturers and distributors build unified commerce strategies that connect B2B and B2C channels on Shopify. As the CEO of Uncap, a Shopify Platinum Partner, I lead a team of experts focused exclusively on Shopify B2B implementations—building storefronts and order portals that are scalable, have a low total cost of ownership, and are deeply integrated with ERP, PIM, and CRM systems.

I made fun of every technology hype, including AI.

But with AI, something happened.

I became addicted.

It is different.

If you are a builder, you just can’t stop. You have no restraint.

You think of something and you can’t hold your breath to execute on it.

You refine it and it gets sharper.

You ship before the doubt even kicks in.

You spend tokens faster than bucks in slot machines.

And still can’t stop.

It feels like having a magic wand.

This is not hype.

This is leverage.

Remember when everyone said: “Ecommerce will kill malls forever.”

Malls are finished. Dead. Buried.

Then you go to one on a Saturday and the parking lot looks like a Taylor Swift concert.

The new prophecy: “AI will kill SaaS forever.”

Every AI CEO in every interview is obsessed with solving cancer.

How about solving what is causing cancer first?

Wait, no… there’s no money in it.

I forgot!

McKinsey study says 97% of B2B buyers are willing to make digital self-serve purchases over $50K.

Yet most B2B companies I see are barely at 30% real self-serve adoption.

Obviously there are outliers, but I’m speaking in average terms.

Something doesn’t add up.

Is the research wrong, are buyers not being truthful or are companies just not ready?
