I became a founder to build cool things.
Not to become a content creator who builds cool things on the side.

I just realized why founders are so weird.

It's Friday 7pm and I'm still yelling at my code...

Normal people on Friday night:

Founders on Friday night:
→ "WHY THE DUCK IS THIS STILL NOT WORKING"
→ Answering customer emails at 11:47pm
→ Having random ideas that need to ship in 30 minutes
→ Opening Cursor for "just a quick fix" (3 hours ago)

Nobody forced us into this.

We saw normal Friday nights and said "nah, I'd rather debug API endpoints while everyone else is at the pub."

We chose it.

→ Waitlists: 239
→ Paying users: 60 (can open 3 bottles already 😎)

→ Conversion: 25% (only 2 emails sent, so more to come!)

Insights:
The feedback has been incredible.

People are publishing their first posts. Planning consistent content. Actually using it.

That's the part that feels freaking awesome.

The 3 cancellations; All ChatGPT users with the same complaint: "Still sounds a little too AI, not enough like me."

So my focus is on fixing this ASAP.

My game plan: creating the Ziplined Writing Engine that ChatGPT can talk to. 

A step closer to solving the pain for customers.

What shipped this week:
→ Image uploads (you can now add visuals to posts, not just text)
→ Better scheduling system (managing and rescheduling saved posts actually works now)
→ Improved brandvoice analysis (way more thorough and accurate at capturing your tone)
→ 8 customer calls (real feedback from actual users = gold)
→ 15 bug fixes (turns out launch week reveals a shitton of issues)

Focus for next week:
→ Ship the new writing system. 
→ Fix the AI voice problem in ChatGPT
→ Keep talking to users.

Ziplined has 61 paying customers.

Here's my 5-point game plan to hit 150 by March 31:

1. Obsess over current customers

Implement all most requests and fix all bugs, as fast as possible.

Then email every single one of them: do you know a founder who'd genuinely benefit from this?

61 happy customers is 61+ potential referrals. If that doesn't work, I'm adding an affiliate incentive. But I want to find out if people refer just because they love the product first.

2. Convert the waitlist

248 people signed up because they have a LinkedIn problem. That's not a cold list, that's a warm one.

I'm emailing all of them to figure out exactly what's stopping them from converting. My gut says 40-50% should convert because they opted in for exactly this reason.

→ What did they see? What wasn't clear? What made them hesitate?
→ Anyone who starts onboarding but drops before checkout gets a follow-up email
→ Every answer shapes the next email

3. Free tools that prove the product

One free tool a week. Based on the exact pain points I hear from founders.

→ Week 1: Custom GPT that generates LinkedIn content ideas based on your profile
→ Then follow up, learn what's still broken, build the next one

The logic: fix one real problem for free, and the paid product sells itself.

4. Weekly founder breakdowns

Every week I pick a founder killing it on LinkedIn and do a full breakdown. Their hooks, post strategy, profile, consistency. What's working and why. How you can copy it.

Starting with:

→ Alex Lieberman, cofounder of Morning Brew (scaled to 4M subscribers, sold for $75M)
→ Adam Robinson, CEO of RB2B (bootstrapped to $10M ARR, one of the most consistent LinkedIn presences in SaaS)

My girlfriend is a little mad at me.

I chose customer calls over cocktails in Strasbourg.

We're here for our 4-year anniversary.

And I'm sitting in our Airbnb doing customer calls.

She still likes me (I checked).

But I get a rush when someone fills in a feedback form, sends me a feature request or does a feedback call with me. I literally can't get them out of my head. 

It's an actual dopamine hit (not the TikTok kind)

For example, yesterday someone asked: 
"Can you analyze engagement on my LinkedIn posts to see if it's actually my ICP talking to me?"

Holy sh*t. That's genius.

Another person: 
"Your 9-step onboarding takes is a little long."

Damn. They're right.

It's exactly the kind of feedback I like. That's why I built a one-click feedback button in Ziplined, to make it as easy as possible to get those dopamine hits.

I get notification emails constantly.
I'm thinking about these ideas 24/7.

Even on a 4-year anniversary weekend in Strasbourg.

I can't turn it off.

And I don't want to.

Because every feature request is someone saying "I want to use your product, but in THIS way."

That's not a complaint. That's a roadmap. 

So my girlfriend is still little mad, but at least my customer aren't 🫡

Honestly, not much. Was away Sunday through Wednesday, and Thursday and Friday were not planned for Ziplined either.

So last week was basically a planned write-off.

→ Writing engine for ChatGPT is almost done. Running final tests today. This fixes the AI voice problem I sometimes hear from ChatGPT users: "still sounds too AI, not enough like me."

This week is a recoop week:
→ 3 customer calls done this morning
→ Emailing the waitlist (254 people who opted in because they have a LinkedIn problem)

One posting streak back in 2024 landed me a contract to build a content engine for a large ecom company. They found me through my posts.

Every euro of Ziplined revenue traces back to LinkedIn.

I've talked to 50+ founders about LinkedIn; same pattern every time:

But reality slapped me in the face with real users showing up.

📞 Monday morning, first call:
"I don't have many LinkedIn posts yet. Can I build my brandvoice from my Medium articles instead?"

🤔 Holy shit... That would be very cool actually!

📞 Tuesday:
"I manage 5 clients. Can I set up separate brandvoice profiles for each?"

🤔 Damn. That makes a lot of sense for a Ghostwriter.

📞 Wednesday:
"Can I use my published book as the brandvoice source?"

🤔 wow you have a book? Yeah totally get you want to use that!

In 3 days I got:
→ Brandvoice from Medium posts (not just LinkedIn)
→ Brandvoice from published books
→ Multi-client agency setup requests
→ Timezone switching for global teams
→ 6-month content planning
→ Visual-first workflows (photos before text)
→ and so much more

Every single one made me think: "How the hell did I miss that?"

But here's what I love about this:

Each request is someone saying "I want to use your product, but in THIS way."

That's not a problem.
That's a roadmap.

My Sunday todo list is completely different from my Wednesday todo list.

And I'm VERY excited about it.

This is the fun part.

Real users don't just find bugs.
They show you what the product wants to become.

Get them in as early as possible.

They'll make your product better than you ever could alone 🫡
