The Brand Floor - in-house creative studios

GAD invited The Brand Floor to participate in a pitch in search of a new creative partner. The concept I came up with called: waste heroes (afvalhelden) won the pitch, which led The Brand Floor to become GAD's new creative agency. After winning the pitch I focussed on rebranding GAD according to the new brand concept. I then cast the new brand into a comprehensive brand manual that now lies at the base of the brand.

During my position at Royal BAM Group, the in-house studio at Trimbos Institute needed a designer to help develop the studio and it's creative portfolio. The Trimbos Institute is the Netherlands Institute of Mental Health and Addiction, a non-profit research and knowledge center. I've worked on all sorts of creative projects like events, brochures, publications and concept development during my position here.

After working at Fluor for over two years I became motivated to grow as a designer. I was presented the opportunity of a more creative position at another in-house studio of Canon Business Services, namely at BAM.

This smaller studio had more complex creative projects that would allow me to grow as a creative designer. This studio also had more potential to grow as it was relatively new. I've worked together with Marieke Ten Kortenaar to further develop the in-house studio and it's creative portfolio.

Started working at Canon Business Services shortly after finishing my education at Mediacollege Amsterdam. Canon Business Services had a set up a number of in-house creative studios at several clients. They were looking for an extra designer to help develop their in-house studios and work on creative and technical projects.

The first client I was stationed was Fluor Haarlem, an engineering and construction services company. This is where I worked with Ed Schuitemaker and Simone Duijn on large several client projects. This is where I learned about the potential of in-house studios.

A very personal internship at Studio Haasbroek where I worked under professional designer and photographer Jean Haasbroek. Learned a lot about being an independent creative designer. Jean helped me grow as a designer and creative entrepreneur. I started my own one-man agency shortly after finishing my internship.

My first internship while studying to become a creative designer. DDB Amsterdam was a great place to learn from the professionals. Became very motivated after seeing so many talented creative people. Learned a lot about the basics of design, working closely with clients and how large/professional design agencies work.
