Technical Support Analyst

Tonik Energy

Greenfield project to set up Tonik’s Demand Forecasting capabilities. Utilised SQL Server and Microsoft Power Apps to create automated processes enabling the day job to be conducted with little input. Developed new Insight function using data analyst skills to demonstrate current customer behaviour to senior stakeholders.
•	Developed 2 daily long-term forecasts and 2 short-term forecasts all fully automated with built in telemetry to monitor performance, reliability and an appropriate approvals process.
•	Utilised Python, SQL Server, Power BI, Microsoft Flows and XML code to enable a customer to sign up and the energy purchasing requirement to be communicated to the trader with no human intervention.
•	Highlighted lack of use of data elsewhere in the organisation and developed Insight function to sit alongside MI to ensure data provision for the wider Tonik business helping to influence marketing strategy and monitor business performance. 
•	Submitting papers to board to influence strategy based on the insight gathered.

Demand Forecasting Manager

E.ON

Ownership of the long-term power forecasting process, delivering detailed and complex insight and analysis into the forecast, enabling the purchasing of £billions of energy commodities. Project role within team to revolutionise and deliver a bespoke automated forecasting system and process.
•	Launched a project to revolutionise the long-term forecasting process influencing senior stakeholders of the benefits case to mitigate over £20 million worth of risk. Mapped and delivered requirements for developers to build an automated, efficient and robust forecasting process with cutting edge design and future proofing for further industry change.
•	Changed wider perception of the volume forecasting team through facilitating stakeholder management and communication. Redesigned and established new handovers of forecast outputs, generating outputs to stakeholders’ specifications with a timely and robust methodology.

Senior Forecasting Analyst

Delivered bespoke SAS systems for the Volume Forecasting team, to support revolutionary industry change, through full end to end development cycle. Acting as business analyst, developer and system tester.
•	Lead Developer and Business Analyst to gather requirements, design and build a bespoke SAS system to fulfil specification to mitigate Industry change. 
•	Co-developer and system tester of systems capable of meeting the Volume Forecasting team’s needs for the largest change to the gas industry for 20 years. Systems delivered to the original timescales, with industry go live over a year later. Negated large risk of missing delivery of £millions now being realised by other companies in the industry.

SAS Developer

Delivered detailed insight and analysis into the forecast which enabled the purchase of £billions of energy commodities. User acceptance testing of new SAS systems.
•	Recognised as the expert user acceptance tester for newly developed SAS systems to ensure robustness and accuracy and confirming delivery versus requirements. Led fellow team members through testing phases and offered support for understanding requirements and challenging tests.

Forecasting Analyst

Delivered short term forecasts on a daily basis with full responsibility for the models for the Corporates business. User acceptance testing of new SAS systems.
•	Developed a prototype SAS system to transform the Corporates long term forecast, using individual customers’ data to increase the accuracy of the forecast.

Tristan started out in energy forecasting before moving on to roles within construction, pharmaceuticals, and now packaging. Tristan focuses on ensuring that we use data effectively for business benefit without getting too distracted by shiny new technologies.
