Our manuscript is currently under review for publication, and in April of 2022 we presented a poster based on our work at the American Occupational Therapy Association's annual conference.

Heres my story. 

In February of 2022, I decided to learn data analytics for fun. I created a Tik Tok account, and started documenting my journey to learn this new hobby (@anniesanalytics). 

Very soon, I realized that every day I was waking up and just wanting to write SQL, build visualizations, learn Python.... Work with data! So, I decided that once I finished graduate school (in Healthcare) in July, I was going to become a data analyst. 

Along the way, I have shared here and on Tik Tok everything I can about what it's like to learn data analytics, and how you can do it for free or at least very cheaply. I've shared about the ups and downs of job searching. I've even shared about how I have built a portfolio, and set myself up as a real analyst.

After writing this I saw the OpenAI plans to start adding 'mature content' and ads into their business model.

For a company that promised to revolutionize every industry and change everything, it's not a good sign for how well their business model is performimg if they're pivoting to the low hanging fruit of the internet...

Dare I say that move even feels desparate.

Anyways, the post is about me and how I'm reacting in my career to the AI wave, with what I would call a healthy mix of adoption and cynicism mixed together.

If I see an AI generated image or an emoji every 10 words in your post, I'm scrolling 🙈

It's not something I do 'on principle', it's subconscious.

I'm not interested in hearing from AI on here. The AI generated image is more powerful in giving me an impression of your post then any text is. It feels like an ad at best.

And the emojis? 😊🙈😦

Every time I hit an emoji 💡 when I'm reading text, I mentally stop. 🛑 Reading emoji heavy content 📚 takes me a lot longer ⌚.

It also doesnt come across as authentic 👀, it feels again ♻️, kind of like an ad 📲.

I think it's emojis in the middle of the paragraph /sentence that are hardest to read, emojis to end a paragraph can work in the right situation.
