As director of public relations, I oversee and coordinate all activities related to promoting Kappa Theta Pi to the Syracuse University community. I create a weekly schedule for social media content and other promotional needs and manage a team of three people that helps to execute my vision. This role also places me on the executive board of the organization, and I work closely with the president, treasurer, and other leaders to make decisions about the organization and ensure its smooth operation.

In this role, I develop a wide range of multimedia content to promote the university's Information Technology Services on both the organization's blog and various social media platforms. I assist in creating posts for Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook, which are a combination of text, graphics, and video content. I typically film and edit videos several times each semester, and also write posts for the blog once or twice each month. I'm currently leading a revamp of a podcast for the organization and am responsible for recording and editing podcast episodes, as well as developing promotional content for them.

As a staff writer, I sought out stories in the city surrounding the university on a weekly or bi-weekly basis. I coordinated interviews with people both in the local area and all over the country to gather relevant information for each article, and collaborate with editors to improve upon my initial report.

As a freelance writer, I sought out human interest stories in my hometown and the surrounding area. I conducted research to discover potential article subjects and arranged interviews with various sources for each story. I also took several photos to accompany each article.

Biography Research

I assisted in the early development of an independent biography about a former CBS president. As a research assistant, I analyzed multiple interviews previously conducted with the biography subject and selected key information from them. I also developed a detailed outline for the biography that the author used as the foundation for the biography's structure.
