“The fact that I have an audience and a voice gives me chills because it wasn’t too long ago I felt voiceless.” 

Back in June of 2020, I gave a Ted Talk discussing the importance social media has on my life and on the lives of others around me. I specifically remember saying this line as it encompassed my commitment, perseverance, and hard-working mentality. No matter how my life was outside of social media, online, I hoped to inspire those who watched my videos. 

I strived to be a light for supporters feeling down. I remember giving a meet-and-greet in San Francisco in 2017 when a parent came up to tell me my live streams made her daughter laugh, and she looked forward to watching me every day. Stories like this motivate me. Hearing these messages keeps me fueled. 

Today, I am still a content creator on social media with over 6 million followers online. However, I am much more than that. I am an eager learner, trying to gain knowledge and wisdom with every venture. 

Hailing from Atherton, the heart of Silicon Valley, I am a business leader developing multiple startups focused on technology, community, e-learning, creators, and social media. I currently host a podcast bringing industry executives to speak on their careers, experiences, and work. I am also a motivational speaker on mental health, social media, and entrepreneurship. 

The desire to create and innovate is something that I carried with me my entire life, even when I was five years old running a charity lemonade stand where I donated 100% of the proceeds to the World Wildlife Fund without my parent's knowledge. 

Since then, I have created an online persona (Rodin' Flash), a clothing line (Dream Big), a social media talent agency (Chalk Network), an augmented reality design studio (SnapLens.Tech), a record label (Rodin' Records), an online boutique, and an Internet radio station.

This is just the beginning. I have so many working projects that I am excited to share with the world. I am a leader, a visionary, a constant learner, and an entrepreneur ready to take on any challenge.

Excited to be speaking at SXSW in Austin next week!

I have been attending SXSW for the last few years and it has become one of my favorite events. Few places bring together technology, media, culture, creators, brands, and founders in the same way.

This year I will be speaking on a panel titled “𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐏𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐈𝐧𝐟𝐥𝐮𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞: 𝐖𝐡𝐲 𝐔𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐟𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐝 𝐕𝐚𝐥𝐮𝐞 𝐊𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐬 𝐓𝐫𝐮𝐬𝐭.”

One of the biggest problems in the creator economy today is simple but rarely addressed.

What is influence actually worth?

Creators are guessing.

Agencies rely on gut checks.

Brands spend millions without a clear framework for ROI.

When pricing lacks clarity, trust breaks down across the entire ecosystem.

A baby monkey in Japan went viral the past few weeks. Not because he’s doing tricks. Not because he’s funny.

Because he’s holding onto a stuffed animal like his life depends on it.

𝐇𝐢𝐬 𝐧𝐚𝐦𝐞 𝐢𝐬 𝐏𝐮𝐧𝐜𝐡. 

He was abandoned by his mother shortly after birth. The zoo staff kept him alive, but they couldn’t replace the one thing he was wired to need. So they gave him a stuffed orangutan. And Punch made it his anchor.

He drags it everywhere. Sleeps with it. Clings to it when he’s overwhelmed.

𝐏𝐮𝐧𝐜𝐡’𝐬 𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐲 𝐢𝐬 𝐚 𝐫𝐞𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐫𝐞𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬 𝐰𝐞 𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐝 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐬𝐞𝐞:

1️⃣ 𝑪𝒐𝒏𝒔𝒊𝒔𝒕𝒆𝒏𝒄𝒚 𝒃𝒆𝒂𝒕𝒔 𝒑𝒆𝒓𝒇𝒆𝒄𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏: He didn’t need the ideal substitute. He needed something that showed up every day. Stability compounds faster than brilliance.

2️⃣ 𝑩𝒆𝒉𝒂𝒗𝒊𝒐𝒓 𝒊𝒔 𝒐𝒇𝒕𝒆𝒏 𝒄𝒐𝒎𝒑𝒆𝒏𝒔𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏, 𝒏𝒐𝒕 𝒄𝒉𝒂𝒓𝒂𝒄𝒕𝒆𝒓: What looks like attachment or overdependence is usually a response to absence. 

3️⃣ 𝑬𝒏𝒗𝒊𝒓𝒐𝒏𝒎𝒆𝒏𝒕 𝒄𝒓𝒆𝒂𝒕𝒆𝒔 𝒐𝒖𝒕𝒄𝒐𝒎𝒆𝒔. 𝑻𝒂𝒍𝒆𝒏𝒕 𝒋𝒖𝒔𝒕 𝒓𝒆𝒗𝒆𝒂𝒍𝒔 𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒎: Punch didn’t will himself into resilience. The environment changed, and his behavior followed. Systems shape people more than motivation ever will.

The uncomfortable truth is this:

Most people aren’t broken. They’re adapting to what they didn’t get.

If you want better creators, better teams, better leaders, stop asking for toughness and start building environments that don’t require survival mode.

Punch didn’t need a miracle.

He needed something consistent.

So does everyone else.
