“I’m investing in AI stocks” used to be a thing you could say and everyone would know exactly what you meant. You’re buying the Mag 7 minus Apple, adding in Broadcom, Oracle, Dell and IBM. Basically you had the whole trade right there.  

I think it’s not going to be so simple in 2026. 

We finally got ourselves a horse race. I break down the big thing that happened this week between OpenAI vs Google here:

Of all the things people are claiming AI will do within finance, this is the most impressive execution I've seen yet. The ability to instantly create a portfolio allocation or manufacture a custom investment product out of thin air merely by speaking it into existence is magical. 

There are boardrooms filled with people in suits coming up with ideas for ETFs. Public just unveiled a machine that makes everyone a portfolio creator, that makes every idea investable (yes, even the bad ones, get over it). No more calculators, no more spreadsheets, no more Google searches. Tell the AI what you want and it formulates a list of holdings, weightings, rankings, etc. Buy it with one touch, like you're buying share of Apple. 

The extra details included - like changing the weightings, clicking into a stock to learn why it was included, etc - are so well thought out. If you haven't seen this demo yet, you're going to be left behind. This is where everything is going. Think about what you would want to build using technology like this because it's about to become ubiquitous.
