Attorney caring for the legal needs of corporate clients. Specialist areas of practice include: Construction and Engineering Law; Energy, Mining and Infrastructure; Litigation and Dispute Resolution; and Administrative Law.  Spearhead activities related to commercial arbitration, adjudication, DAB hearings, claims negotiation and settlement with reference to the FIDIC suite of contracts, the GCC, the JBCC and the NEC agreements.

Played a lead role in the start up and establishment of the Construction and Engineering team. Grew a healthy practice and was made equity partner in April 2015. Specialised in Construction Law. Represented clients such as Aveng Grinaker LTA, DB Thermal, Exclusive Books, Gijima and African Rainbow Minerals on complex legal matters.

Offered a partnership within the Dispute Resolution department, with focus on Construction Law. Matters included negotiating a large engineering, procurement and construction contracts in the renewable energy sector and extensive work for Aveng, providing dispute resolution services in connection with engineering, manufacturing, mining, concessions, public infrastructure.

Edward Nathan Sonnenberg

Developed a practice focussed on general commercial dispute resolution. Played a lead role in the successful negotiation and navigation of complex disputes in the Mining sector involving traditional communities and private equity firms. Special contribution: prominent in the opening of the Small Claims Court in Alexandra. Lectured frequently to residents of “Alex” on the functioning and benefits of that court.

Gained specialist knowledge of construction contracts and litigation. Earlier work focussed on a broad spectrum of dispute resolution work including insurance litigation.
