In my current role, I design and implement comprehensive audit programs and testing procedures to
ensure regulatory compliance and effective risk management. My role involves thoroughly reviewing
SOPs for adherence to banking regulations during internal audits and evaluating the work performed
by Staff I and II auditors to maintain high-quality standards.

Senior Internal Auditor

This role was meant to be for a long term contract, but was cut short due to budget cuts shortly after I
started. I conducted detailed walkthroughs, performed testwork for internal controls, and completed
thorough risk assessments to identify areas for improvement.

I efficiently tested over 20 controls in just one month and compiled comprehensive documentation for
processes and procedures to clearly explain steps to operational personnel. Additionally, I entered
control processes and background information into the SHRP recordkeeping system with a high
degree of accuracy, ensuring precise and reliable data management.

Senior Audit Consultant

Augustine Property Management / Third IV Properties

I tracked spending for multiple mobile home parks for various syndications and funds as well as oversaw the bank accounts for each of the different mobile home parks. I was responsible for supervising a team, where I managed the processing of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and daily journal entries to accurately calculate weekly and monthly P&L statements. I also performed monthly bank reconciliations, prepared financial statements, and handled tax preparation to ensure precise financial reporting.

My dedication and strong work ethic earned me the company’s Hard Worker Award 2X for
consistently going above and beyond to meet deadlines. Additionally, my efforts were recognized as
having the most organized department, thanks to the implementation of strict internal controls and
effective SOPs.

Kansas City Southern

While working for this company, I coordinated and executed SOX testing, freeing up staff
members to focus on other critical projects. I established and nurtured a key relationships with the Big 4
external audit team, which was instrumental in developing and implementing a successful reliance
strategy.

I also supervised the development of team members in Mexico, leading multiple strategic
internal audit projects that were delivered on time and within budget. My expertise also extended to
conducting Federal Regulatory Audits on three separate occasions, where I provided requested audit
training and walkthroughs to client departments, ensuring their compliance and success.

I revitalized workpaper documentation processes, aiding team members in developing essential audit knowledge. I prepared and hosted client walkthroughs, strengthening client relationships by gathering crucial evidence for risk mitigation and enhancing internal controls.

Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas City

I enhanced internal control processes over financial reporting, covering key areas such as claims operations, pharmacy benefits, and Medicare Advantage. I reviewed risk matrices to ensure controls effectively addressed perceived risks, while investigating variances to provide targeted recommendations for improvement. 

I also conducted SOC 1 and SOC 2 testing to ensure comprehensive control coverage, contributing to a stronger, more resilient control environment. Additionally, I collaborated with team members to document and streamline control processes, aligning operations with best practices.

Financial/Operational Auditor

OGE Energy Corp

While in this role, I facilitated SOX testing for taxes, compliance, and regulatory accounting, ensuring
accurate financial reporting and tax filing. I conducted special request audits for NERC, compliance,
regulatory rate cases, and coal inventory, applying deep industry knowledge and expertise.

I educated the team on key audit risks and performed variance analyses, sharing insights with
management to drive investigation and resolution. I also developed comprehensive audit plans and
provided actionable recommendations to various working groups, enhancing overall compliance and
operational efficiency.

For this position, I maintained a high level of productivity and efficiency, effectively reducing the need
for additional team hires while working off site through strong time management, multitasking, and

No internet. No calls. No work.

Day 1: Slept all day.
Day 2: Slept all day… again.
Day 3: Slept mostly, but managed dinner.
Day 4: Picked up photography as a hobby.
Day 5: Injured my ankle climbing a mountain.
Day 6: Walked around town, took notes, tried to find some clarity.

The rest of the vacation was exactly what I needed.

It gave me perspective for 2026.

One small win can restore your faith in yourself.

No new American-minted pennies after 2026.

This isn’t something you should ignore.

The U.S. government expects to save $56M a year.
That’s the headline.

But zoom in...

They also expect buyers to lose about $6M a year —
because sellers will round up that $0.99 to $1.

At scale,
small decisions create massive distortions.

As an entrepreneur:

- Money is your least valuable asset.
- Time is your second.
- Self-belief is your first.

Be careful how you spend each.
The smallest trade-offs compound the most.

Your own stomach can be empty, and yet you can still worry about feeding someone else.

Finding people you care about is more powerful than anything else.

You want to be a leader?
Lead people you care about.

You want to be an entrepreneur?
Build for people you care about.

You want motivation?
Think about them.

Find people you care about and your whole life will make sense.

All excuses will vanish.

In 2016, I was afraid to lose my job.
In 2017, I quit it anyway.

Any job that makes you feel unsafe for your future is not worth it.

I'd rather work a lower paying "secure" job,
than a higher paying gamble.

One gives you opportunity to improve.
Other psychs you out.

If you're searching for a job right:

- Your best jobs will come from referrals.
- Network like crazy to get them.

Jobs you find from a random listing are not the same. The mindset of the employer is very different.

If you're afraid to lose your job:

- Invest in save places.
- Build a strong side income.
- Double down on work until you have money saved up.

Most importantly, do two things:

- Become really good at your job.
- Network like crazy to get better jobs, clients, etc.
- Build a personal brand so opportunities come to you.

To employers: A save environments turns C-players into A-players.

I nearly lost everything… because of bad advice.

If you're stuck in life, read this:

At the time of writing,

- I work as a corporate consultant
- I lead a portfolio of media agency partnerships
- I’ve received thousands of testimonials and endorsements

But there was a time I was living on the streets and begging for a job — because of bad advice, bad relationships, and bad habits.

If you’re in that place, here’s what I learned:

1. You only need motivation when you’re low on self-esteem.

Get small, quick wins.
Small wins build self-esteem.
Self-esteem is a magnet for success.

Know someone struggling? Help them get their first quick win.

2. Stop worrying about the product, marketing, or sales.

Find massive demand first.

Find a market where even bad products sell well — and step into it.

3. Build leverage. Every sale should get easier over time.

Leverage = less effort, more outcome.

You can build leverage with:

- Tech
- Content
- Templates
- Relationships
- Personal Brand
- Referral Programs
- Contracts & Partnerships
- Connections & Reputation
- Lists / Audiences / Newsletters
- Website SEO & Domain Rankings
- Testimonials, Endorsement, Case-Studies
- etc.

4. Find what works for you. Ignore gurus.
Their generic advice is toxic.

Make a list of what has already worked for you — and double down.

Stick to the basics:

Marketing strategy --> Word-of-mouth
Content strategy --> Helping you for free
Sales method --> Selling stuff people want
 
Don’t fall for complicated, guru-style nonsense.

TL;DR:

- Get small wins
- Find big demand
- Stick to proven basics

And most importantly:

- Only sell to people you understand.
- Only create content for people you care about.

All the data in the world can’t replace a drop of real empathy.

This year humbled me more than I expected.

In 2025:

- I closed the biggest deal of my life
- I spoke in front of 12,000+ people
- I taught MBA students at a uni... one even called me "professor"

That last one was the highlight of my year :)

But 2025 wasn’t all wins.

1. I lost money trying to build a rental portfolio
2. I fell short on promises I made to family
3. I felt held back by old commitments
4. I dropped my health goals by Feb

Not proud of it — but I’m owning it.

Overall, 2025 was a win no doubt... but I want 2026 to be more "focused"
