We want to start a national conversation about the importance of brain health and specifically, help people understand even small lifestyle changes can make a difference to how you feel now and the health of your brain as you get older. No one is too young or too old to start looking after their noggin and we are committed to help support brain and mental health education for children to break the cycle of poor brain health.

As Chief Innovation Officer, I combine technical knowledge and extensive experience in measuring and designing human well-being and performance interventions to develop OPTIVIO's stress management focused workplace wellbeing platform. OPTIVIO applies wearable technology and work pattern data via integrations with office suite software, enabling employees to identify when they are stressed, understand what is stressing them out, and find science-based tools to improve their stress management.

My responsibilities include:

- Identifying new technology and data-driven approaches to measure and improve stress management in workplace wellbeing programs.
- Translating scientific research into products, frameworks, and resources organisations can deploy to support employee well-being and performance.
- Designing and leading a research program with wellbeing and mental health experts to validate a novel workplace stress detection method based on wearable technology.
- Building global networks and collaborations with domain experts and organisations to create innovation momentum and execute our commercial strategy.
- Establishing OPTIVIO's thought leadership through regular speaking engagements and contributions to public and industry forums.

Chief Innovation Officer

Hintsa Performance

As Chief Innovation Officer at Hintsa Performance, and Director of Hintsa's Innovation Lab, my responsibilities included:

- Establishing an internal ‘Innovation Lab’ to drive innovation, encourage fast learning & capability building within the organisation, focused on testing new approaches to measuring & improving wellbeing, workplace practices & sustainable performance.
- Programme development and delivery: Translating the output of innovation lab projects into frameworks and resources within Hintsa’s workplace wellbeing programs.
- Thought Leadership: Sharing learnings through regular speaking engagements to influence organisational thinking & strategy in human wellbeing & performance.

There were three principal components in my role as Head of Science & Innovation:

- Establishing a new ‘Science Board’, comprised of health and wellbeing experts, to inform content, product & service development for our client’s workplace wellbeing programs.
- Identifying and incorporating new scientific research and industry trends in workplace wellbeing into our company’s strategy and product roadmap.
- Communication strategy: Designing and delivering content and presentations to establish the company’s position as an innovator & leader in workplace well-being and sustainable human high performance.

Head of Science & Innovation

Through research, speaking, and consulting assignments, I was responsible for:

- Developing a scientific evidence base to support Hintsa's workplace wellbeing interventions.
- Developing Hintsa's network with health and wellbeing domain experts through direct outreach and networking at relevant events.
- Working with Hintsa's clients and customer companies to translate emerging research in human health, wellbeing and performance into practical actions and organisational workplace wellbeing strategies.

My work spanned a range of professional contexts, from consulting with Formula 1 teams to designing new corporate wellbeing programs for global corporations.

I applied and developed my experience in science, research and communication to:

For over two decades, I’ve been researching human performance and helping top organizations worldwide unlock sustainable success.

My journey began as a full-time racing cyclist. I wasn’t the most gifted athlete, but I leveraged cutting-edge technologies and innovative training methods to push my limits. 

While I didn’t achieve the podiums I dreamed of, I discovered a deeper passion—understanding what drives peak performance—and an intriguing question:

“What does it take to achieve extraordinary performance without sacrificing wellbeing?”

This question drove me to seek out, study, and work with elite performers in both sports and business—from Formula 1 teams to Fortune 500 executives—revealing how the principles of sustainable high performance can unlock extraordinary potential and drive transformative success.

Along the way, I earned a PhD in Performance Science from Loughborough University, ranked #1 globally for Sport, Exercise, and Health Science, and founded the Knowledge Work Lab, a consultancy that empowers organizations to thrive by enhancing both performance and wellbeing.

I’ve also had the privilege of sharing my insights on global stages in over 30 countries including:

• Three World Economic Forum Annual Meetings in Davos,
• Business conferences such as the Nordic Business Forum, where I was one of 12 speakers, including former President Barack Obama,
• Top-ranked International Business Schools , including Duke, IMD and St. Gallen.

Through my keynotes and consulting, I translate science into effective strategies that equip leaders and their teams to create workplaces where people don’t just survive but thrive and where employees and organizations can reach their potential with a measurable commercial impact
