Helen’s approach rests in the value she’s gained from being Agency and Client side. As previous Head of Global Brand & Marketing at VisitScotland, managing a 60 strong team, Helen strives to bring the best out in both team and agency, focussed on ensuring both understand the joint challenge and work in partnership to deliver and evaluate.

In a challenging economy, Helen oversees targeted programmes of acquisition and retention initiatives, with belief in the product, Scotland, at the heart of all activity.  Recognition for this work includes global wins at Europe’s IMCC and Worldwide Globes, Travel Marketing Awards and US based Stevie Awards, and on a personal level recognition as Top 100 Women in Tourism. 

To maintain team motivation and success, Helen recognises the value in continuous training, recently launching an internal programme of development modules. The aim to continue to challenge, excite and develop, reflected both in personal satisfaction and delivery. Additionally, as previous Chair Helen supports the role Marketing plays within the student/graduate field, working with The Marketing Society Scotland to raise its profile and demonstrate the value of closer ties between further education and the Society.
