You feel like you’re being set up to fail and may be thinking that quitting is the only viable option. 

It isn’t.

I experienced burnout early on in my medical career. The fast paced, high pressure specialties I was drawn to were not compatible with my long term wellbeing, at least not the way I was living at the time. 

I realised that if I didn’t make some major changes I would likely perish. 

I am now an occupational health physician, qualified coach and experienced speaker who cares greatly about staying well at work and managing stress. 

My personal experience and expertise in working well underpin my passion for helping doctors avoid burnout. 

I use an evidence informed approach advocated by the Society of Occupational Medicine to help doctors recover from burnout.
