Every morning, the watchman in my building stands at one gate.

He checks who’s coming in.
He checks who’s going out.
He does his one job. Quietly. Consistently.

And because of that, everything else works.

Now imagine this.

The building adds another gate.
Same watchman. No backup.

Now he’s running.
Back and forth.
One gate here. One gate there.

Not missing things because he’s careless
but because he’s split.

That’s when focus turns into fatigue.

We underestimate how powerful single-gate thinking really is.

Founders live this every day.

One gate is offline.
Clients. Teams. Decisions. Delivery. The real work.

The other gate is online.
Visibility. Presence. Conversations. Staying relevant.

Trying to guard both gates yourself slowly drains energy
from the gate that matters most.

Think of it like this:
you stay focused on your main gate.
I quietly take care of the other one.

No noise.
No running back and forth.
Just alignment.

Because when responsibilities are shared thoughtfully,
work feels lighter and progress steadier.

And that’s when everything else works too.

A client once asked me something that sounded logical
but hid a deeper doubt.

“How can you write for people from different industries and personalities?”
“As in… you’re not Google.”
“Are you using ChatGPT?”
“So how do you write for all of them?”

Fair question.

I don’t become them.
I be them.

And no, that’s not as creepy as it sounds.

Secret is that I love writing fiction.
Stories where you don’t get to sound like yourself.

You have to think like a 22-year-old who’s lost.
Speak like a leader who doubts himself at night.
Show up like a woman fighting for her space.
Teach like a grandmother who’s seen generations rise and fall.
Pause like someone who avoids talking about their fears.

If you don’t feel the character, the story dies.

That habit never left me.

So today, when I write for a founder, a coach, or a leader,
I’m not asking,
“What tone should I use?”

I’m asking,
“What would feel right for them to say…
and what would feel completely wrong coming from them?”

Because voice isn’t vocabulary.
It’s instinct.
It’s character.

Google gives information.
ChatGPT gives structure.
Stories teach empathy.

That’s the difference.

And that’s how I write for many -
not by sounding smart,
I don’t insert myself into the writing.
but by stepping back so that their personality, their character takes the front stage.

Curious -
when you have to adapt to different people or audiences, 
what’s your method?

Everyone’s asking about New Year resolutions.
And in the very next post, someone’s already saying,
“Don’t worry, they’ll fade away by February.”

So… what’s really going on?

We announce goals.
Then we announce why goals don’t work.
Then we consume ten opinions about discipline, habits, mindset, systems, motivation…
all before breakfast.

No wonder our thoughts don’t stand a chance.

We’re not short on ambition.
We’re buried under advice.

So many voices telling us what to want
that we forget to ask what we actually want.

Somewhere between productivity hacks and hot takes,
thinking quietly became unfashionable.

Maybe resolutions don’t fail because we’re inconsistent.
Maybe they fail because we never gave them space to breathe.

Because clarity doesn’t come from more information.
It comes from less noise.

This year, instead of chasing the perfect resolution or dismissing it as pointless, 
maybe just pick one thought.
One intention.
And sit with it long enough to hear your own voice again.

Not everything needs to go viral.
Some things just need to be true.

I need to vent. And I’ll keep this honest, factual, and from my personal experience.

I signed up for SaveSage after all the hype, the credibility of Anupam Mittal, the Shark Tank buzz, and the promise of “smart finance made simple.” by Ashish Lath

Two weeks in, here’s the reality.

My credit card data is still not fetching.
I raised tickets. Multiple times.
They were closed.
No discussion.
No explanation.
Even “call back” ticket was closed without anyone calling me. Impressive efficiency.

Now the most shocking part.

If you actually want to talk to a basic customer support executive, that’s apparently a paid privilege.
Yes. Customer service comes only with an upgrade plan. - hope you are making a note of it allindia consumerfourm 

Let that sink in.

As a paying customer, I can’t speak to support unless I pay more.
So I’m stuck watching tickets close themselves while my issue stays open in real life.

At this point, frustration turns into disbelief.

I even left a review on the Play Store.
It disappeared.
Maybe moderation. Maybe coincidence. Either way, not reassuring.

Honestly, right now the app feels less like “wealth management” and more like expectation management gone wrong.

To be sarcastic, now we know how you are getting free flight tickets, gold jewellery without spending penny from your pocket. It's our user subscription fees you got for FREE.

I’m tagging Ashish Lath here not to attack, but to ask for accountability.
Because when a product positions itself as trustworthy and customer-first, this kind of experience hurts more.

This isn’t about one feature not working.
It’s about how other dissatisfied, confused, and frustrated customers are handled. If this is happening to me, I genuinely wonder how many others are quietly dealing with the same thing.

I hope someone from the SaveSage team, Ashish Lath, Anupam Mittal is listening.
Because right now, I’m less angry… and more disappointed, more frustrated, more irritated.

Sunday has this funny way of pretending it’s generous with time.

You wake up slow.
Breakfast becomes brunch.
Brunch turns into “let’s eat whatever is left.”

Plans sound ambitious in your head, but your body has other ideas and negotiates everything down to “we’ll see.”

You decide today will be slow, so you sit down for a bit, then randomly remember one small thing that needs fixing, which turns into three unnecessary tasks you didn’t plan but somehow felt emotionally right to do.

Messages finally get replies because Sunday gives you just enough guilt and calm to be polite again.

A nap is scheduled. Then cancelled.
And again it is emotionally attempted.
By evening, you’re sitting there thinking, “Wow, today went fast,” as if you didn’t personally escort it away. 

By evening, you realise the day didn’t ask you to achieve anything grand, it just quietly passed while you were half-resting and half-thinking about Monday.

And maybe that’s Sunday’s real talent - letting you exist without explanation, even if only for a few hours.

And honestly? That’s enough for today.

Sunday doesn’t end at midnight.
It ends mentally around 6 PM.

At 6, you’re optimistic.
“This weekend was nice. I rested.”

By 7, reality enters quietly.
You start checking the time like it personally betrayed you.
Dinner feels heavier. Thoughts get louder.

Around 8, Monday begins warming up backstage.
You remember things you forgot to do.
Things you chose not to do.
Things you’ll now think about all night.

At 9, you bargain.
“If I sleep early, Monday won’t hurt as much.”
You won’t sleep early.

By 10, acceptance arrives.
The kind that says, “Okay. We survive. Again.”

Sunday evenings aren’t dramatic.
They’re just emotionally honest.

If you’re somewhere on this ride right now,
welcome. You’re exactly on schedule.

Saturday mornings at home are different.

The milkman arrives early, rings the bell like it’s urgent business.
Mom starts the day with, “Aaj tera kaam hai.”
And suddenly, your “slow weekend” turns into unpaid household internship.

you realise something.

Lately, I’ve been scared of writing.

Not because I don’t have thoughts.
But because everything I write risks being labelled “AI-generated.”

Short sentences?
AI.

Break one long thought into three lines for readability?
Definitely AI.

Use an em dash?
Congratulations, straight to jail — AI writer.

Avoid em dashes?
Sounds stiff. Still AI.

Use words like unlock, leverage, impactful, narrative?
AI copywriter alert 🚨

Write clean? AI.
Write messy? Also AI.
Write like a human thinking out loud?
Suspiciously… AI.

The funniest part?
These are things humans were doing long before AI showed up.
But now even humans, and AI-detection tools, are like:
“Yeah, this feels… machine-y.”

So you start second-guessing every sentence.
Editing out your own instincts.
Overthinking tone instead of meaning.

And suddenly, the fear isn’t “Is this good?”
It’s “Will someone think this isn’t me?”

Which is exhausting.
And honestly, sad.

Because writing was supposed to be about expression.
Now it feels like a test you can’t pass.

I’m curious.

HR (your brain) asks:
“So… how was the weekend?”

You reply in three classic ways:

Option 1: Cry a little.
Because if you cry now, you might as well commit and cry till Thursday. Consistency is important.

Option 2: Feel oddly satisfied.
Not because life is perfect - but because you rested without guilt.
Might accidentally lead to a productive Monday.

Option 3 (viral-approved):
“Hey, it only has to make sense to me
and I don’t feel like explaining it to anyone else.”

No breakdown. No overanalysis.
Just you mentally buying that 365 button (IYKYK)
buying yourself peace, one day at a time, for the whole year.

Sunday isn’t ending.
It’s just asking which mood you’re carrying into Monday.

As I handed my dad his 65th birthday card, he looked up at me with tears in his eyes and said,
“Today is not my birthday,” he smiled. I squinted. Confused.

Then he smiled again, softer this time. “You always choose blue.” I laughed, because he was right. Blue turquoise sequins-work dress tied with blue ribbons. Blue icing on cheery pink cake. Blue followed us like a quiet promise neither of us had ever named. He pressed the card to his chest, steadying himself the way he always did when emotions came too close. The house smelled of cardamom tea and old books, the same smells that had raised me.

Yes, He had raised me alone. But, he never made me feel incomplete.

My mother died the day I was born. The words were always said plainly, like a fact that shouldn’t be touched for too long. There were no photographs on the walls. Just care, shaped like hands that were always ready. Like bedtime stories told in different soft voices so I wouldn’t feel the gap.

Dad was everywhere in my childhood.

School plays. Parent meetings. Late-night fevers. He learned how to braid hair from YouTube before it was normal. Learned about periods and ponytails and patience without once making it feel awkward. When nightmares came, he didn’t ask questions. He hummed. When I cried, he didn’t rush to fix me. He stayed.

Outside our home, people stared. Whispers followed us in grocery store aisles. Teachers hesitated during parent-teacher meetings. Relatives spoke in half sentences and full judgments. Neighbors asked questions that were never questions. He heard all of it. Felt all of it. Carried it home silently and left it at the door.

I never saw the weight.

To the world, he was strange. Unusual. Something to be discussed when backs were turned.

Weekend has a different rhythm.
You wake up without an alarm, but not without thoughts.

The phone is quieter, the house is slower, and chai somehow tastes more patient. You tell yourself, “Today I’ll relax.”
Which usually means doing everything at half speed and calling it rest.

You clean a little - not because the house is dirty, but because moving things around feels like rearranging your head.
You laugh a little - at old messages, at random reels, at inside jokes only you still remember.
And you overthink a little - about conversations you’ll never have, decisions you’ll take “after Monday,” and ideas that only show up when no one’s asking for them.

Someone says, “Enjoy the weekend.”
You nod. Your brain quietly continues a meeting without inviting you.

Weekends aren’t about escaping life.
They’re about meeting the parts of you that weekdays keep postponing.

The tired part. The hopeful part.
The part that wants to do nothing and everything at the same time.

And somewhere between late breakfasts, unfinished plans, and that one moment of silence - you remember what your pace feels like.

Let me ask a slightly dangerous question.

Why does LinkedIn suddenly feel incomplete without a photo?
As if thoughts now need a face to be taken seriously.

You can pour years of experience into a post,
but if there’s no picture attached, the algorithm squints like,
“Hm… but where’s the human evidence?”

Somehow, a thoughtful idea without a photo is treated like a résumé without a profile picture.
Technically valid. Emotionally ignored.

I get it.
We’re told people connect with people.
Faces build trust. Visuals stop the scroll.
All fair points.

But here’s the irony.

We came here for ideas.
Leadership. Insight. Perspective. Growth. Opportunities.
Not a daily headshot audition.

And yet, somewhere along the way,
we started dressing our thoughts like they’re going on a first date.
Good lighting. Picture-perfect smile. Great background.
And an Insta-style double tap.

Meanwhile, the idea waits patiently underneath like,
“Hello? I’m the reason we’re here.”

Nothing wrong with photos.
But when visuals become a requirement for credibility,
doesn’t something feel a little… off?

I know, we’ve debated this many times.
Probably every day since LinkedIn was born.
Still, I’m genuinely curious -
if the thought is strong enough, shouldn’t it stand on its own?

Is the picture helping the idea…
or rescuing it?

No right answers.
Just a conversation worth having.

Tricolour everywhere.
Smiles. Flags. “Proud Indian 🇮🇳” captions.
Some even stepped out early to click a photo with the flag in the background.

By afternoon, life resumed.

A conversation turned dismissive because someone had a different opinion.
A joke landed, and we laughed — even though it punched down.
Someone was judged quietly for their surname, their accent, their salary.
Power showed up. Kindness didn’t.

Nothing dramatic happened.
That’s the problem.

Because this is how the Republic slowly slips out of the room —
not with noise, but with comfort.

We celebrate freedom of speech,
until it disagrees with us.

We speak about equality,
until it asks us to share space.

We admire justice,
as long as it doesn’t require us to adjust.

We remember “constitutional values” twice a year —

and then spend the remaining days practicing convenience.

Maybe Republic Day isn’t about celebrating who we are.

especially when no one is watching.

Title - Present Every Day, Sir

They didn’t identify Raghav Malhotra by his face.

He was found alive at 3:11 a.m. in his penthouse corridor, crawling. The cameras caught everything except the man who arranged it. Raghav’s legs were bent backward at the knees, joints folded wrong, taped tight with electrical wire. His palms were scrubbed raw, skin peeled away until bone flashed white. A trail of blood led from the bedroom to the elevator like a dragged confession.

The medical examiner said the killer had forced him to crawl. From one end of the flat to the other. The floor was covered in coarse salt, industrial cleaner, and crushed glass powder. Every inch. Every movement tore flesh. Salt bit into exposed nerves. Cleaner burned the wounds open again. Raghav screamed until his throat gave up. Then he kept crawling anyway.

He died fifteen centimeters from the elevator button.

On the wall, written neatly with a bloodied fingertip, were the words: “Present, every day sir.”

The video leaked within hours. Cities froze.
