Okay, going to poke the bear here — but does 95% of SaaS copy sound like it was written by the same person? 

I remember back when I started out in 2016, I got to work with fantastic tech companies that had wonderful brand voices, and wildly fun and creative copy was produced as a result. That just...doesn't seem to happen much anymore.

Is copy becoming another victim of the Beigeification of Everything?

If you work with copywriters, bear in mind that this is what our creative process feels like. 

And we spend a LOT of time in zones 3 and 4 😅

I haven’t posted here much this year… so here’s a little catch-up, and a chance to admire my powerful green Dobby socks.

Alongside copywriting for some awesome SaaS clients (you know who you are 💙) 2025 has looked a bit different.

☀️ I dialled back my workload earlier in the year to spend 2 months travelling around Italy, eating my bodyweight in cacio e pepe, rekindling my love of negronis, and remembering what slowing down actually feels like

🤸‍♀️ I signed up for professional handstand coaching, because for some random reason that ended up on my life to-do list this year?

🧘‍♀️ I completed my 200-hour yoga teacher training, which was equal parts humbling, challenging, and satisfying

🌙 I’ve been getting deep into yin yoga — studying, practicing, and exploring how this quiet, meditative practice can have a huge impact on mindset and flexibility

🥞 I’ve been prioritizing flexibility training so I can enjoy contorting myself into fancy shapes like pancake, bird of paradise, and front splits

🤓 Annnnd I’ve built a new website to tie this whole yoga, anatomy, and movement obsession into some semblance of a new side business

It’s definitely been a year of less workworkwork, and more intention

And also, a year that’s made me rethink what growth actually looks like,  in business, in mobility, and in life as I approach my (very large number) birthday 😅

I mean. Wow. I’m all for creative copywriting, looking for an attention grabbing headline and possibly a little shock factor. But this? Nope. 

My daughter somehow subscribed to this product in my name while on my phone using it to access her homework for secondary school (all online, find that weird but hey, it's 2025). When I realised, I cancelled it - not something I’m interested in. More of a fan of getting off your butt and making healthy food choices. 

They then send me follow up emails, and this is not the first, saying I’m fat, lying and pathetic. The additional context is irrelevant - deleted before even reading it fully to be honest. But this is how we instil body issues and mental health concerns around physical appearance. 

In honesty? Absolutely disgusted.
