Another one bites the dust. 

Copy.ai had some novel use cases. 

They were early to market and had some great marketing. 

But not once did I think they were doing something that couldn’t be done with the major LLMs. 

Buyers just had to catch up. 

OpenAI had to add a few simple features. 

And poof. 🧙‍♂️ 

Probably not the exit they were hoping for. 

Reskinning LLMs is not enough. 

Like selling macros built on top of Excel. 

Build your own proprietary agentic use case AI. 

Or you have to be solving a very practical problem in a creative way with access to the ecosystem (integrations). 

If not, you’ll just get built out. 

History repeats itself often. See Borland, Forethought, PeopleSoft, Concur, etc...

P. S. Where is Fullcast getting the money for all these acquisitions?

The highlight of #NYC was definitely meeting Lindsay O'Brien!

Amazing how guilty we feel about the smallest things, like getting help or business travel. 

I have to remind myself of the sacrifices my parents and grandparents made.
