Most people try to upgrade their personal brand by adding more.

More posts.
More opinions.
More frameworks.

That’s the wrong upgrade.

The real upgrade begins with subtraction.

Your personal brand improves the moment you stop explaining yourself to everyone.

Every time you:
• Soften a point to avoid discomfort
• Add context so no one misreads you
• Chase relatability instead of precision

You dilute your brand.

Strong personal brands don’t feel broad.
They feel clear.

The upgrade isn’t better content.
It’s tighter thinking.

Say fewer things.
Say them repeatedly.
Say them without hedging.

When people can predict how you’ll think about a problem, they start trusting you with bigger ones.

The organic reach on LinkedIn has seen a 60% dip.

But LinkedIn isn’t “showing LESS content.”
It’s getting sharper about who content is actually for.

Their October 2025 research explains this clearly.

The feed now uses LLM embeddings to narrow hundreds of millions of posts down to roughly 2,000 candidates per user.

Which means something important:

Your content isn’t judged in isolation.
It’s judged by who it reaches first.

The algorithm learns your audience from early engagement. Not from your bio. Not from your hashtags.

This is cohort seeding.

If the first few people engaging with your post are misaligned, the system learns the wrong lesson about your work and quietly limits it, killing your reach.

If reach is falling, the answer isn’t louder content. It’s the content written specifically for your audience.

The cohort seeding makes sense but isn’t it discouraging to see the organic reach dropping every year?

Give me 43 seconds to prove this.

Your hook isn’t just a catchy first line.
It decides if your audience even meets your idea.

I’ve been writing on LinkedIn for 19 months now and trust me, attention here works in layers:

1. The hook → decides if you’ll pause.
2. The next 2 lines → decide if you’ll stay.
3. The body → decides the post is worth the time.
4. The end → decides if you’ll make an effort to engage.

If you lose your audience at step 1, 
the rest doesn’t even exist.
