Dawn Bloomer is a Vice President of M&A in the Western Region for Generational. She brings a unique combination of entrepreneurial leadership and transaction experience to her role, having bought into her veterinary practice early in her career before growing it and eventually leading its merger into a national acquisitions group. She continued on to support that group’s buy-side M&A efforts, helping expand its footprint until it was ultimately acquired by a large, private equity-backed aggregator. 

After navigating those transactions from the owner and operator seat, Dawn transitioned into advisory, where she helps other business owners prepare for and successfully navigate the sale of their companies. Having worked on both sides of the table, she brings practical insight and empathy to every engagement—understanding firsthand what business owners face and what buyers want. Known for her clear communication and collaborative style, she serves as a trusted partner to clients and their advisors throughout the deal lifecycle.

As a Certified Financial Planner® and Certified Exit Planning Advisor®, I specialize in helping business owners navigate two critical questions:

I've seen "modest" exits where the owner sold for less than they could have but did it on their terms, at the right time, and moved into a life they loved.

The difference? Clarity about what they were building toward all along.

A few years ago, I added CEPA® (Certified Exit Planning Advisor) to my credentials.

I kept seeing a gap in my practice.

Business owners would come to me for financial planning. We'd build great strategies. But there was always this elephant in the room: the exit.

Most clients hadn't thought seriously about when or how they'd leave their business. Many had unrealistic expectations about value. Almost none had a coordinated exit strategy.

The CEPA® training changed how I work with business owner clients. It gave me frameworks for conversations we weren't having. Tools for planning we weren't doing. Coordination strategies that actually work.

Now, exit planning isn't something we do at the end. It's woven into every strategy we build from day one.
Because the best exits are planned years in advance, not months.

There's this myth that business owners are automatically wealthy.

Revenue doesn't equal wealth. Neither does owning a business.

I work with owners of multi-million dollar companies who are, financially speaking, more fragile than they appear. Everything is in the business. Personal wealth? Minimal. Exit plan? Nonexistent.

Then I work with owners of smaller operations who have built incredible wealth outside their business. Diversified investments. Clear succession plans. Personal financial security.

The difference? Intentionality.

Wealth doesn't happen by accident. It's built through consistent decisions that prioritize both business growth and personal financial security.
