Robert W. Taylor is a seasoned leader in the energy sector, serving as Vice President of Global Business Development at the International Human Resources Development Corporation (IHRDC) since 1999. In this role, he has driven international sales strategies and forged strategic business opportunities across the Asia Pacific and Sub-Saharan Africa regions. With a focus on delivering high-quality products and services, Mr. Taylor advises global energy clients on innovative learning and competency development strategies, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and industry standards. His unique cultural approach, shaped by living and working in diverse countries including Norway, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Oman, the UAE, and Indonesia, enables him to adeptly navigate and bridge cultural nuances in global business environments.

Professional Experience
Before joining IHRDC, Mr. Taylor built a distinguished 22-year career at Otis Engineering and Halliburton Energy Services (1977–1999), where he held progressively senior roles. Notably, in 1995, he was appointed Scandinavian Business Development Manager for Halliburton, where he managed the full portfolio of service offerings and led the development of integrated commercial solutions across the region.

As a senior instructor at IHRDC’s Energy Institute in Boston, Mr. Taylor delivers a core module on Drilling and Completion, blending technical expertise with leadership development. His facilitation emphasizes critical competencies such as communication, team dynamics, creative thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making—skills vital for high-performing energy professionals. Drawing on his global experience, he integrates cross-cultural insights into his instructional design, creating impactful human capital development programs and company-wide management systems in collaboration with energy organizations worldwide.

Mr. Taylor is a long-standing member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) and the Association for Talent Development (ASTD).
