In high school, I was that weird kid who, instead of taking shop classes, I loved all the language electives (speech, Spanish, journalism, and grammar). 

Words fascinated me—especially the root meanings behind words, such as authentic. 

Did you know that the word authentic comes from the Greek root meaning:

THE FALL CAN BE SCARY BUT IT’S THE LANDING THAT KILLS YOU.

My wife thought I was nuts.

I’d always wanted to jump out of a plane and feel the rush of terminal velocity. Since I was doing the jump solo, the training took a full day — which surprised me.

I expected the focus to be all about the jump. Instead, most of the day was about landing.

Like life and business, we’re headed for the “safe life” of mediocrity if we never take the leap. 

But let’s be real — we procrastinate because we’re afraid of getting hurt on the landing.

The solution:

❤️ Prepare with the right mentors.

❤️ Build the courage to jump.

❤️ Learn how to roll with the landing.

Do this and you’ll develop a rhythm: you’ll jump, land, recover, and get better each time — like a pro.
