Amazon is a search engine for driving customer acquisition.

The most valuable real estate on Amazon: top-of-search organic ranking on non-branded search terms.

Yet, instead of acquiring this real estate, the prevailing "strategy" too many brands, agencies, and automated softwares employ targets ad profitability, usually measured by ACOS and ROAS.

Which leads to chasing cheap clicks on branded and low-volume non-branded search terms, and which leaves brands over-reliant on ads and/or branded search to drive revenue.
