It was 2019 and I was pretty happy with myself

After 14 years of coaching over 800 clients including students, employees and 250 CEOs,  I THOUGHT I knew what I was doing... 

Then I got my "nightmare" client.  A wonderful guy named Joe who wanted to push himself to grow his business. 

Joe was a nice guy, very intelligent and wanted to take action to propel his sales.

I thought Joe would be the perfect client

I was wrong

At first everything seemed to go well. At the end of our first weekly 50 min session, it seemed that Joe had committed to a gamechanger action to transform his life.

Each week however, Joe returned having not done the action. I soon found out why.

Through a mixture of fear and distraction, Joe came up with a rationale by day 2 of each week
about why not to take the action forward

He was only brought back on track the following week by our next session

I was getting extremely frustrated and really wanted Joe to get results like my other clients

After 2 months of only minor breakthroughs, I had an idea!

"I'm going to break my rules", I told Joe

I had taught English to students in both Primary 4 levels as well as Primary 6 Levels. Lingnan Primary School is a local Chinese private school with students whose English backgrounds varies greatly. Some students I had taught had minimal English exposure at home, while others had more exposure to the English language. Lingnan Primary School, being a Chinese school, gave me valuable teaching experience as well as a tool which I can still carry on given the opportunity.

I was very fortunate to be the only Hong Kong local teacher hired by this school as I was the first batch of teachers to start my teaching career. Students primarily range from all educational backgrounds but a majority of the students are Singapore citizens. When I was there, Singapore International School, (SIS) uses the local Singapore teaching curriculum which caters to students from pre-school levels to Primary 6 level. Now SIS has new extension for secondary school students. The curriculum is challenging for both teachers and students as it prepares students for the PSLE when they finish Primary 6 and the curriculum also prepare them to continue into the secondary levels. Students graduated from the Secondary levels enter prestigious universities abroad as well as top universities in Singapore.
