Last month, my mate used AI to write shitty posts… 0 leads. I showed him my content strategy… 1 month later, 2 inbound leads.

“Hey Juned, I am struggling. I see how you’re getting traction on LinkedIn. How are you doing it?”

I looked at his content:

It read like absolute AI robot rubbish
Topics no one cares about
Absolutely no personality

So I sent him my content strategy.
The same one I use to get inbound and outbound DMs

1. The 5 Post Types
One for each weekday:

Monday: I talk about life lessons and what has happened in my business
Tuesday: I post about the processes and systems I use that help me run my business
Wednesday: I post something that I either tried or did that worked, and why it works.
Thursday: I post about my life, just normal personal things that are going on in my life or have happened
Friday: I post something about people that are around me or people that are in the same boat I’m in (like in good company)

2. Hook framework
I try to use 10 words or fewer and only speak from personal experience. I try to address the pain, fear and desire

Ex: BAD: "Here are 5 tips..."
Better: "I nearly quit last week, but learned these 5 things..."

3. Write as you talk
Write like you are speaking to a friend, not like you’re speaking to AI or a CEO of a big company. Just be yourself.

4. One post = one idea
Take your time with 1 post, and don’t try to muddle different things in 1 post. Your readers won’t know what you are talking about

5. End with a takeaway
Try to give your reader something they could take away right now or keep in the near future. It doesn’t need to be something crazy like “You will get 10,000 leads right away”. It can be something minor

1 month later: 2 inbound DMs asking to work with him.
And that’s all there is to it.

Copying what the biggest creators are doing on LinkedIn is just dumb.

They’ve got massive followings. They can literally post anything and still get engagement.

You’re not there yet.

So stop copying these gurus and just sound like your normal self. Then you’ll see results that only your personality could bring, not someone else's.

I had max £50 in my account for 2 years.

And it taught me more than any win ever could.

Failing and repeating.

Nearly lost my house because of my roommate's mistakes.

Every day I’d check my bank account thnking “something has to change soon, right?”

It didn’t.

But the 3 things that shaped me into who I am now are:

1. Patience isn’t waiting for results.
It’s trusting the process when there’s zero proof it’s working.

2. The invisible stuff compounds first.
While broke, I was building:

 - My ability to read people.
 - My understanding of what actually sells.
 - My discipline to keep going when it sucked.

None of that showed up on a P&L…

But it showed up later when things clicked.

3. Desperation kills deals.
When you’re broke, you smell it on yourself.

Prospects smell it too.

I had to learn how to be calm.
Even when I was anything but calm inside…

Those 2 years weren’t wasted time.
They were the foundation.

Every win I have now traces back to something I learned when I had nothing.

I lost 30 kgs.

Because I’m a hyper-motivated person? Nah…

I’m not more motivated than most people.

I’m just better at doing boring things for longer.

I don’t wake up excited to:

- Train
- Write
- Post
- Show up

Most days it’s all good.

Some days I want to lie in bed.

I went on this crazy ‘self-improvement’ journey (it was filled with just sitting down and watching hours of YouTube videos).

But every single video had 1 thing in common, and it was consistency.

No matter what you do, you have to be consistent with it. So I tried it, day by day, week by week and lost 30kg in 1 year.

It helped me understand that it's not just those 16-hour short bursts you get at 3 am, but having a consistent flow every day will get you somewhere quicker and easier.

Once I realised consistency helped me with my weight, that’s when I jumped into business and started:

- Posting 5x a week
- Sending 50 DMs every Monday
- Building my following and connections to my ICP.

I didn’t think I’d get quick wins; I just used consistency for delayed gratification to see what it had for me later down the road.

So my advice to you

If you can do boring things longer than most people, success has nowhere else to go.

I used to open LinkedIn, stare at the screen, then close it.

Because the advice I heard made starting a business on LinkedIn way worse.

Every ‘guru’ has the same idea and the same advice in each post.
‘Share Value’

They give no context, no explanation and no examples of what value actually looks like.

Just share value, and LinkedIn will work for you.

Okay mate… What value?

I would read it and think, ‘Oh yeah, that’s where I'm going wrong,’ but when I actually start writing a post, I’d think to myself, ‘What is the value to others?’

How would I even know if it’s good enough, or worse of all, even worth posting?

I would write a post for hours, sit and stare for 10 minutes… and then delete it.

It made me grow a hatred of writing posts because I thought I wasn’t good enough.

I did realise, however (took wayyyy longer than expected), that posting stuff like my learnings and experiences is more valuable to others than just thinking of a ‘smart’ post I know nothing about.

When I made that shift, I stopped deleting posts, and LinkedIn started to make a bit more sense.

Writing more about your experiences is better than ‘sharing value’, which has the most confusing label.

Share your experiences, and the people you’re targeting will come to you.

I get 1 inbound lead a week by never selling on LinkedIn

Which wasn’t always the case.

Early on, I thought I needed to be clear about outcomes.

So all of my posts promised leads, calls and clients.

Nothing outrageous.

Just very salesy.
Very guru-ish.
Very LinkedIn.

And even though it got attention, it created friction.

People read with their guard up.
DMs felt cautious.
Conversations started with scepticism instead of curiosity.

You could almost feel the thought:
“Cool story… now where’s the pitch?”

So I tried something counterintuitive.

I stopped leading with lead-gen promises.

No “this will get you clients.”
No “do this to book calls.”
No aggressive CTAs waving from the bottom of the post.

Instead, I focused on positioning.

Writing clearly about:

Problems I see founders repeat
Why most LinkedIn advice breaks in the real world
What people actually care about when they scroll

No selling.
Just clarity.

Which turned out to be a much better place to start.

Because people don’t want to be convinced.
They want to feel understood.

Aggressive promises optimise for speed.
Authority optimises for trust.

And trust compounds.
Especially on LinkedIn.

So you don’t need a louder CTA.

You need clearer positioning.

The inbound still comes.
They’re just warmer when they do.

In a 60-min questionnaire, I can sound like you

Most people think that’s backwards.

“Wait… I’m paying YOU, and I have to do the work?”

Yep.

Most content writers jump straight into writing.

Quick Call.
Then start pumping out posts.

3 weeks later, and none of this sounds like you.

You can’t write for someone if you don’t know how they think, talk, or even see the world.

So I built a system that fixes that.

Before I write the first post, I need to understand:

- Who is your dream client
- How do you sound
- The moments that shaped your story

Takes 60 minutes.

Yes, it’s upfront.

But…

- I build your ICP document.
- I build your tone of voice and writing guidelines
- I build your background story

Then, when we hop onto a call.
Everything is done.
We sit and see if the content I provided you is up to your standard.

The questionnaire isn't extra work.
It’s the reason the content doesn’t sound generic.

I was rewriting a post at 2am when it hit me:

This isn’t sustainable.

A few months ago, I was everywhere.

Posting 5x a week.
Commenting on every big creator’s content.
Tweaking my offer.

Consuming everything LinkedIn could offer.
Whilst maintaining 2 jobs that took 73 hours out of my week.

I thought that’s what it took.

Putting everything on the line for ‘success’.

But I was exhausted.

I’d wake up and immediately check LinkedIn.
Compare my engagement to others.
And feel behind before I even tackled my day.

When I was rewriting my post a 2am for the 4th time.

I stopped and just wondered.

“What am I actually doing?”

I wasn’t building a business.
I was trying to keep up with people 3 years ahead of me.

People with audiences I didn’t have.
Proof I haven’t earned yet.
People with more experience than the years I’ve been alive.

I was running a race I wasn’t supposed to be in.

So I slowed down.

Don’t get me wrong, I didn’t give up.
I was sprinting without a direction, which led to constant burnout and insecurity.

I cut back to 3 posts a week.
Stopped obsessing over what everyone else was doing.
Focused on my ICP instead of chasing engagement.

And nothing fell apart.

My engagement didn’t drop.
My momentum didn’t stop.

If anything. I started thinking clearly.

Content was sharper because I wasn’t rushing.
Energy came back because I stopped comparing.

You don’t have to keep up with everyone to move forward.
You need to build at a speed that doesn’t break you.

(P.S. I’m back up to 5 posts/week, but at my own speed, which feels 10x better.)

I’ve talked to 10+ founders. They all said this:

“I don’t want to be a content creator.”

They don't want to spend hours writing posts.
They don’t want to go viral.
They don’t want to become LinkedIn influencers.

What they DO want:

- To be known by the right people (not everyone)
- To attract quality leads without the grind.

That’s exactly the type of person I want to work with.

It’s about building the right audience.

And that requires a completely different approach.

Not chasing engagement.
Not posting 10x a day.

Just strategic, authority-building content that speaks to the people who actually hire you.

So if you know LinkedIn could work for you, but don’t want to become a content creator…

I post 5 times a week now, but you don’t need to.

Authority doesn’t come from the volume of posting.
It comes from clarity.
And you can do that with 3 posts a week.

I don’t chase trends.
I don’t try to go viral.
I don’t post just to “stay consistent”.

I use a simple system.
Nothing more.

Post 1: Connection
One real story, lesson, or reflection.

 - Not advice.
 - Not teaching.
 - Just perspective.

That’s where people think: “Okay… this person gets it.”

Post 2: Credibility
One clear idea I actually understand.

 - A process.
 - A breakdown.
 - A way of thinking.

Not everything I know.
Just one thing done properly.

Post 3: Proof
A result, insight, or observation that’s explained calmly.

 - No screenshots.
 - No chest beating.
 - No ‘10x overnight’ lies.

Just a “here’s what worked and why.”

That’s it.

No hooks engineered to trick people.
No outsourced content that sounds like a stranger.
No posting just because “the algorithm likes consistency.”

Most founders don’t fail at LinkedIn because they post too little.

They fail because:

 - Every post tried to do everything.
 - Nothing sounds like them.
 - There’s no structure and full of jargon.

When each post has a role,
The system runs quietly in the background.

You show up less.
You’re clearer.
And clarity compounds.

If you don’t want to be online all day,
Build authority that works when you’re not posting.

That’s the goal.

I cut my posts in half.

DMs doubled.

No tricks. 
No hacks.
Just less explaining.

I used to stack every post with:

Context. 
Backstory. 
Disclaimers. 
Clarifications for people who were never going to read it anyway.

I thought more explanation = more value.

Wrong.

It just diluted the point.

So I tried something uncomfortable.

I said less.

Shorter posts. 
Fewer caveats. 
Cleaner ideas.

I stopped trying to convince everyone.
And started trusting the right people to get it.

That’s when things changed.

Not louder engagement. 
Better engagement.

Replies instead of likes. 
Conversations instead of compliments.

Here’s why:

→ The right people don’t need hand-holding. 
They need recognition.

→ Over-explaining signals uncertainty. 
Leaving space signals confidence.

And confidence travels further than detail ever will.

Most founders who say 
“content didn’t work for me” 
weren't unclear.

They were trying too hard to be understood by everyone.

Say less. 
Mean it more.

Let the right people lean in.

That’s where the real conversations start.

There’s 1 small thing I don’t skip.

Even on my bad days.

I go for a walk every single day.
Even when everything slips.

Not a long one.
Not a “clear my head and solve my life” walk.

Just enough to move.
Just enough to breathe.

Some days I don’t want to.
Some days I feel flat.
Some days, everything feels heavier than it should.

I still go.

Not because it fixes anything.
But because it keeps me grounded.

It reminds me that showing up doesn’t always look impressive.
Sometimes it just looks quiet and consistent.

I don’t post about it (other than this one).
I don’t optimise it.
I don’t track it.

I just do it.

And on days where everything else slips…
That 1 small habit keeps me steady.

That’s enough.

Last week, my posts ‘bombed’ (I almost deleted LinkedIn). But then I checked my DMs → 7 leads.

Huh?

Let me explain…

Thursday morning, I was scrolling through my last 10 posts.

Nothing crazy,
Few likes here and there, but thats it.

I had 0 proof it was actually doing anything.

So I’m thinking I was just wasting my time.

Then my phone buzzes… DM from someone I’ve never spoken to: “Hey Juned, I’ve been connected for a while and was wondering if you have time for a quick chat to see where you can help me?”

What type of supernatural timing is this?

So I did a final swing through the messages, and in the last 3 weeks:

 - 7 people DMed me (I didn’t know them)
 - 2 wanted to jump on a call

Not one of them ever commented on a post.

That's when it clicked.
I was treating LinkedIn like Instagram.

Waiting for posts to blow up. Checking likes every 20 minutes.

None of that shows up on the post itself!

So if you only look at engagement... you'll think it's not working and quit right before it does.

Thank God I didn't delete my account. I’m learning trust takes time.

So my goal isn’t likes… but building trust over time!

If LinkedIn feels slow right now, you might be doing the basics right... But bailing right before the payoff.

Don’t!

Hooks = 99% WHY people read your posts.

Bad hook = bad performing post

(1% is because they know you and would read anything you post)

I looked back at my posts last week.

I wrote 4 posts last week (if I’m honest, I just forgot to post on Friday. Don’t hate me, I’m only human)

The posts that got me DMs weren’t ones filled with smart writing.

They had good hooks that were clear and straight to what I was posting about.

Nothing else mattered other than that.

I tried hooks that had a sense of curiosity to them to make the reader feel ‘intrigued’ and… they didn’t work. So I tried straightforward ones. The hooks where after you read the first line or 2, you know what else is ahead, and they worked 10x better than the curiosity post.

I realised that curiosity hooks don’t work on accounts like mine (I literally have just under 1000 followers), my followers don’t know me enough to be intrigued. But telling the readers what they are in for works a lot better for smaller accounts.

So if your posts feel invisible, don't rewrite the whole thing.

Rewrite the first line.

That's where the decision gets made.

My #1 LinkedIn mistake wasn’t consistency.

It was pretending to be someone else.

Early on, I thought LinkedIn success meant I needed to sound:

Smarter
More “Professional.”
More like the people getting all the likes in my feed.

So I did the worst thing possible.

I started impersonating them.

Same tone.
Same structure.
Same polish.

On paper, I was “doing LinkedIn right”

I was showing up.
I was posting consistently.
But I was getting nowhere.

Not because I was lazy.
Not because I didn’t have any ideas.
But because I sounded like everyone else.

And when you do that,

You blend in with everyone else.

So I dropped the act.

Same problem my people cared about.
Same opinion I already had.
Same message.

Just said in my own words.

No fancy jargon.
No borrowed personality.
No LinkedIn cosplay.

And that’s when authority started to show.

Because clarity builds trust.

And being yourself is way harder to ignore than being “professional.”

They need to stop pretending to be a version of themselves they think LinkedIn wants.

Say the simple things.

But say it like you.

That’s not risky.

That’s the difference between pretending and being remembered.

My 30-minute LinkedIn System

Built for founder who “don’t have time.”

These founders are buried in decisions.

Every post turns into:

What should I say?
How should I say it?
What format should I use?
Is this even worth posting?

That mental load is what makes LinkedIn feel exhausting.

So instead of relying on motivation, I built a 3-part system that removes decisions almost entirely.

1. Ideas don't come from brainwashing.

They come from real conversations

Client calls.
DMs
Questions people ask repeatedly
Objections I hear every week

If someone say it twice, its a potential post.
If they say it 5 times, it definitely is.

No ‘content ideation sessions.’
Just paying attention.

2. Post get shaped, not written from scratch

I never start with a blank page.

Every post fits into a familiar lane:

Lesson
Process
Story
Opinion

Same structure
Same flow
Different message

Thats why it doesn't feel draining, I'm not reinventing anything.

3. Consistency comes from friction removal

Not batching
Not prompts
Not posting daily

Those still require energy.

This works because:

The idea already exists
The format is already chosen
The bar for ‘done’ is clear

Most weeks, the whole thing takes around 30 minutes

And it actually gets posted

Consistency on LinkedIn doesn't come from motivation
It comes from a system that makes not posting harder than posting

Most founders don’t need more time
They need fewer decisions

Thats what makes LinkedIn:
Sustainable
Profitable
And long term.

I grew up with very little.

So I have zero tolerance for wasted effort.

When that’s your starting point, you learn something early:

Energy is expensive.
Time is expensive.
You don’t move unless you actually do something.

That mindset stuck with me

It’s why I’ve always had a short fuse for:

Posting 5x a week with no strategy
Building notion dashboard that never get used
Following ‘growth hacks’ that lead nowhere.

It’s not because I’m impatient.
But because I know what it feels like when effort has to count.

When you don’t have room to spin your wheels.
When you can’t afford to chase shiny things.
When progress isn’t optimal but just surviving is.

So when I see founders drowning in endless content ideas, overbuilt systems, and tactics that go nowhere...

It pisses me off.

Not because I'm judging them.

But because I know they don't need more advice.

They need less nonsense. 
Fewer distractions. 
Clearer priorities.

I don't hate ambition. 
I hate wasted motion.

Build what works. 
Say what you mean. 
Drop the fluff.

That mindset didn't come from podcasts or Twitter threads.

It came from survival.

Best education I ever got.

Founders who don’t want to go viral are a green flag.

They’re not after attention.
They’re after results.

They care about:

Signing the right clients, not just any clients.
Revenue over reach.
Sounding like themselves, not a content template.

These are the founders I respect most.

Not because they’re humble.
But because they’re focused.

They’re not asking: 
”How do I get more impressions?”

They’re asking: 
”How do I attract the right people?”
“How do I grow without turning into someone I’m not?”

They don’t want to dance for the algorithm.
They don’t want to go viral and spend the next week explaining themselves on sales calls.

They want:
Content that sounds like them.
Conversations that feel normal.
Growth that doesn’t require a personality transplant.

And that’s when the work actually works.

Less noise.
Less ego.
More trust.
More momentum.

Because when someone isn’t obsessed with going viral, they’re usually focused on building something real.

A real business.
With real clients.
Who actually stick around.

So yeah.
Founders who don’t want to go viral?

That’s who I want to work with.

I posted 5x/week for 4 months.

Booked 0 calls.

Likes?
Sure.

Comments?
A few "great post 🔥" from people I'll never work with. (Could tell it was fully AI)

DMs?
Nothing.

Sales calls?
Zero.

Bank account?
We're not talking about that…

Everyone kept saying:

“Post 5x/week”
“Comment on big creators' posts like my life depended on it.”
“Share my ‘wisdom’ about productivity and mindset, and business growth.”

And wait for the flood of clients.

But I didn’t see a single client.

I started thinking maybe I was just bad.

Maybe I should give up and get a normal job where I at least know when payday is.

Then one night I see this post:
"I post 4x a week. Made £115K from LinkedIn alone."

You couldn’t imagine how pissed I was.

So I DM'd him (wasn't even polite about it):
"How are you even doing that?"

He replied:

"Mate, you're posting for everyone. That's why it's not working. Pick ONE person and talk to them."

Damn.

I was writing "business tips" for "entrepreneurs."

Literally the most generic audience on the planet.

So I deleted my content calendar and asked myself:
"If I could only speak to ONE type of person for the next 6 months, who would it be?"

UK B2B founders under £1M ARR who know LinkedIn could work but don't have the time (or desire) to do it themselves.

That's it.

I rewrote everything for them.

And now I’m slowly seeing the results I want.

So target one audience.
Make sure they feel heard
And then post 5x/week will make more sense

I tried 3 content strategies.

Only 1 got me leads.

When I first started, I followed all of the big LinkedIn gurus.

The difference was…
They already had a big following…

So no matter what they posted, it performed well.

I didn’t have that luxury.

1.  Educational Posts.

Frameworks.
How-tos.
Step-by-step breakdowns.

People saved them.
Commented stuff like “super helpful!”
But no one messaged me.

It just made people read and leave.

2.  Motivational Posts.

Mindset.
Consistency.
Discipline.

All of the stuff you see on Instagram accounts.

It got tons of engagement.

Yet, still no leads.

Motivational content makes people feel good.

It doesn’t make them take action.

3.  Problem-aware posts.

I stopped teaching and inspiring.

And started calling out specific problems my ICP was already dealing with.

No fluff.
No Jargon.

Just “I see your problem. I can fix it”

My DMs finally started moving.

Founders started messaging me asking how I can help them.

Educational posts got me saves.
Motivational posts got me likes.
Problem-aware posts got me leads.

So if your content gets engagement, but no one’s reaching out.
