Being “always on” feels like leadership.

Quick replies.

Open calendars.

Constant access.

But here’s the hidden cost:
Availability drains energy — quietly.

Not because the work is hard.

Because the interruptions are endless.

Every message.

Every notification.

Every “quick question.”

None of it feels heavy.

Together? It creates a cognitive tax.

You’re never fully focused.

Never fully recovered.

And eventually — momentum fades.

High performers don’t have more energy.

They protect it.

Protected focus.

Clear access boundaries.

Intentional off.

Leadership isn’t about being available.

It’s about being intentional.

Yesterday, my wife and I intentionally set a full day aside to "reset."

No tech, messages, chaos, emails, and fires to put out.

Phone on Do Not Disturb and mind at ease.

A coffee and snack at a new place, a walk in nature, and a full cycle of heat and cold therapy at a spa.

No intentions, no meetings, no to-dos.

And we plan to continue these Resets once per quarter.

Because if you're not protecting your time, energy, and focus, no one else will.

After seven years building UNTIL, I’m stepping away.

We started working on the idea in 2018 with a simple ambition: to shift power back into the hands of practitioners and build a model that genuinely worked for them.

Since then, we’ve launched multiple clubs, built our own digital infrastructure from scratch, raised significant capital, and supported thousands of professionals to build independent careers on their own terms.

It’s been one of the most intense and formative chapters of my life.

But for me personally, the next chapter looks different.  

At 47, with my kids heading into their teenage years, it feels like time to rebalance and reprioritise. So I’ve taken the decision to move full-time to France and reshape how I work and live.

Building large, physical infrastructure businesses demands constant presence, scale and energy. I’m proud of what we built, but I now want to focus on ventures that are structurally different: lighter, more flexible, and designed around a different way of living.

BUT, I’m still obsessed with building businesses and driving impact. I'm not done with startup just yet....
