Tom Davenport is a world-renowned thought leader and author, is the President’s Distinguished Professor of Information Technology and Management at Babson College, a Fellow of the MIT Center for Digital Business, and an independent senior advisor to Deloitte's Chief Data and Analytics Officer Program.

Lubna Alam is an Associate Professor in the Department of Information Systems and Business Analytics in Deakin Business School. Lubna has over 19 years of experience in Higher Education teaching and research. Lubna obtained her PhD from the University of Canberra Australia on influences on crowdsourcing for cultural and heritage institutions in 2014. She was awarded the Dean’s Emerging Research Leader award in 2016 and recipient of Vice-Chancellor's Excellence Award for Outstanding Contribution to Student Learning in 2012. She won the best paper award, first place at the Twenty-Third Australasian Conference on Information Systems, Jeelong, Australia in 2012. 

Central to her research is a focus on the nature of emerging, often disruptive, social information systems (e.g. social media, crowdsourcing, mobile technologies) and their impact on individuals and organisations, with a particular focus on public sector and not-for-profits. Dr Alam’s current research topics include social media in government, crowdsourcing motivation, relational governance, digital transformation, service innovation, business value of IT and competitive information advantage, AI and Ethics. She aims to publish in quality and high-ranked journals. Her research has been published in leading international journals such as Information Systems Research, Scandinavian Journal of Information Systems), Pacific Asia Journal of Information Systems and Australasian Journal of Information Systems. She has also published multiple papers in internationally-recognized top conferences such as the International Conference of Information Systems (ICIS), Mediterranean Conference of Information Systems (MCIS) and the Australasian Conference of Information Systems (ACIS).

Lubna has received several grants both from industry and government as principle-CI and co-CI. However, predominantly an interpretive qualitative researcher, Lubna also adopts mixed research methodologies in her current work including discrete choice experimentation, secondary data analysis, ethnography and surveys. Lubna has been invited to multiple industry panels and presentations and has served in industry committees in Government 2.0.  As a social media expert, Lubna has been interviewed multiple times for Media including the National TV networks and Newspapers.

Prior to joining Deakin University, Lubna was an Assistant Professor of Information Systems at the University of Canberra. Prior to UC, Lubna worked overseas as a lecturer at the North South University Bangladesh.
