💰 WHY IT WORKS: In modern organizations, many external factors impact forecasts. These factors include holidays, promotions, capital investments, weather, and global economics.

Machine learning forecasting models can incorporate these external factors to produce more powerful forecasts than can be achieved via commonly used techniques (e.g., Excel's FORECAST.ETS() function).

✅ HOW I DO IT: I work under two operating models depending on your business needs:

"Done with You" - This is a coaching model where I train your team/organization and then help them successfully apply what they've learned.

"Done For You" - This is a consulting model where I do the work on your behalf.

Regardless of the mode, I focus on the nature of your business problem first and foremost. 

Before I write any code or train your team, I partner with you to develop an understanding of your business. With this baseline knowledge, I then bring my 14+ years of analytics and data science experience to the engagement. 

I can use Python in Excel or Jupyter Notebooks - whichever works best for your situation.

LinkedIn's favorite Language Teacher, Katia Artyushenko, reminded my of my futile efforts to learn Chinese during my two trips to China some 25 years ago...

Sadly, these are all the pictures I have at hand. I will post my Great Wall pics in a future post. My day at the Great Wall near Beijing was life changing.

~ The Only Chinese I Learned in China ~

We ate at the company cafeteria every day and some of the worker ladies sat at a nearby table...

everyday they would all watch us very intently...right when we were about to leave...and then they would burst out laughing...so I asked our Chinese colleagues why they laughed...

As it turns out...at the end of every meal, my American co-worker would ask, "Shall we go?"

And I always replied, "We shall go".

Apparently, I spoke perfect Chinese for "eat little dog!"

And apparently, the ladies found this to be rather amusing (and, I suppose, quite weird).

We also lost the 24 hour House of Pies and the 22 hour Starbucks...

 COVID...

That Starbucks was incredible...the line was out the door all day long...CRAZY stuff after midnight...so loud you could barely converse...

Now it's dead...only the ghosts remain.

it was touch and go...TOUCH and GO...peaked at 170K and fell...then bounced back and smashed 200K

I'm trying to perfect the method of saying 'you do you'...

I ask them "Have you read [book on the topic]?"

If I don't know any books on the topic, then I probably shouldn't be trying to change anyone's opinion.

That was a real request we received yesterday.

You can’t make this stuff up.

The caller was genuinely desperate to fill the role.

Sometimes, as headhunters, our job is to bring people back to reality.

We told him plainly: We’re happy to help, but either the pay needs to come up (by A LOT) or the expectations need to come down to a true part-time position to reflect the salary.

Recruiters can find great candidates.

But, you can’t hire serious talent with unserious terms.
