I've spent 10+ years working in technical B2B SaaS companies—from employee #3 stage through Series C. I've been lucky enough to work at companies that got acquired (Knack, Mode Analytics), which taught me a lot about what actually matters when you're building for the long haul.

What I do:
I build product marketing from scratch at technical companies where "product" actually means something in product marketing. My sweet spot is complex products—AI/ML infrastructure, data analytics, developer tools, workflow automation—where you need someone who can talk to engineers and then translate that into messaging that makes sense to buyers.

I've led marketing at places like Wallaroo AI (MLOps infrastructure) and LeadIQ (sales tech). I've also done foundational PMM work at early-stage startups still figuring out their positioning and GTM strategy. Turns out I'm drawn to the messy early stages—building frameworks, setting up processes, helping teams figure out what resonates.

What I've learned:
I care a lot about cross-functional collaboration between product, engineering, and go-to-market. Too many Product Marketers forget about the "Product" in their title. I actually like working with technical teams to shape what we're building, not just marketing what gets shipped.

I'm comfortable building with constraints. I've rebuilt marketing with little-to-no budget, launched products without big teams, and figured out how to move fast with what we have. Turns out constraints make you creative.

I've gotten pretty good at translating technical complexity. Whether it's ML model deployment, data governance, or gnarly integrations, I can take technical capabilities and turn them into narratives that resonate.

I have strategic and tactical range. I've led teams and worked solo. I've built integrated campaigns and shaped company-wide positioning. I can do the high-level strategy work and also just get stuff done.

Right now:
I'm running ProductColab, helping early-stage technical companies build their marketing foundations—positioning, GTM strategy, messaging, and the cross-functional bits that connect marketing with product.

In my first four months, I worked as a recruiting associate on the Campus Business Recruiting team within Talent Acquisition (TA). Our team goal was to recruit 60 recent college graduates for the BLP-Global Sales role. Given that benchmark, my personal goal was to learn how to be a stronger team player in helping our group of seven make this happen. I leveraged my skills developed via the LinkedIn Recruiter exam to source a talent pool of roughly 700 candidates. I completed about 190 first-round recruiter phone screens that resulted in about 8 to 10 hires. During that time, I created three strategies that increased our sourcing efforts to push two additional candidates to the final interviews. In addition, I worked with both BLP Leadership and Campus Recruiting to build out processes that would lead to stronger diversity outreach efforts. Developed a 3-page report to identify the gaps and processes in how our team-specific efforts are compared to the metrics reported to Linkedin Talent Acquisition Leadership Team that improved data reporting in support of TA.

I live in Mexico City, have been for last 11 months and, one day… I heard a knock at my door. 

Guys. This ish was so unexpected, my tongue was tied on ‘who is it’ or ‘¿Quién es?’

Anyways I opened it and there stood my neighbor, holding a stack of clothes, my clothes, folded???

Before I could bust Duolingo, she said:

Placed them in my miming hands, smiled and went about her day, like being a good neighbor to a babbling gringo, was second-nature. 

7 months later. 

I still think on it today because, it’s no open secret: I’m the only 6’1” black dude, wearing wool socks & shorts, on neighborhood block. 

Don’t check my papers, just profile my stereotypical (poor) fashion choice and, well here I am. 

But nah. In my time here, as ‘Michael Jordan sin dinero’ (my given nickname), I’ve been invited to family gatherings, cracked jokes, laughing along.

Why should your loved one know either? Clicks and giggles, OKRs and metrics of fickle B2B marketing, which questions your worth, every lead not converted. What keeps you going?For me, it’s a midday text like this. Knowing what I endure isn’t it ghosted effort. It’s building a small biz in a smaller part of B2B universe. Much like nonstop-order-taking-in-house-requests, as solo marketers. 

Three I’ve spoken with past week in our Scope & Sequence discovery calls, one summing frustration best: 

“CEO slacked me 9:27pm last night, making multiple messaging changes to our homepage. I understood why [he did it] but, nowww I’ve gotta go back, update all our existing assets, notify teams – to get it all consistent.”

Are you feeling this too? It was no different for me, 3 years ago.

Being in-house solo PMM, joining a sales team call, taking orders like an iHop waiter on Thanksgiving Eve. 

It’s no fool-proof layoff recipe:
- give no input
- do as you’re told
- pray next check isn’t final. 

Speaking from experience, order-taking isn’t layoff insurance, I’m sorry.

This is my barber, Moi. 

Spanish speaking in Mexico City, I force-feed English on him. Why learn HIS language? 

Yeah, it’s his barbershop, his day-to-day he knows like a clean fade so, what? 

I built 3 businesses in two years, moved to HIS country last year and, I did it all in English, only. 

Why should I change then? Find new ways to explain what I know, works? Adapt to what Moi knows firsthand?

Friends. I’m not alone in this — Fox News and most exec leaders I’ve worked with — believe this too:

“Our audience will figure it out.”

“Our system, ONLY way to fix yours.”

“Your way is broken, adopt our way instead.”

All shortsighted. 

It’s business, only money talks. 

Where you build a new software that works, fixing problems audiences want fixed faster, they’ll force-fit time and figure it out. 

But not everyone. My expat life mirrors PMM consulting biz I’m building now. It’s easier to reach more diverse audiences, when WE adapt what works, in language our audience gets. 

I could be a one-lingo pony, evangelizing what works and, converting others on my approach. 

That worked for a time, different from what’s before us now. People vibe with those who, seek to see their way of life. 

I really do believe.

Didn't celebrate Thanksgiving, here's why. 

Yesterday there I was, faced on a tough Q, trying to win 'Scope & Sequence Be A Millionaire Yo!' Called on my LinkedIn community and y'all?

Facking delivered. So do millionaires use LinkedIn anymore? 

PS: it was always a wig.

Our 3rd Zoom call yet, CMO leaned in as if, I was the 2025 LA Dodgers in Game 7. The exact moment I earned his full-screen attention:

“It’s a full website audit against live questions our audience’s asking online.”

My new dashboard was his grand slam, I replied:

“Here— this might be why your sellers can’t sell this.”

I highlighted our shared screen, showing questions across Reddit:

- What’s an AI sales assistant? 
- What should I expect from using one? 
- How does it differ from an AI sales agent? 

His new AI positioning didn’t created pipeline last quarter. He’s been crossed with his sellers since, assuming their ‘laziness’ murdered new deals.

“That could be true but, let’s not assume. This might be what’s going on instead.”

I then pivoted one tab over, showing how his full website (not homepage alone) answered today’s queries, I continued: 

“Your positioning (AI sales agent) makes sense, capturing why you win yet, our analysis suggests it might not be answering [audience] questions.

Let’s say sellers aren’t ‘lazy’. Like your audience today, it could be a struggle to see your positioning, your full website not answering questions overlooked.”

Clear aha pushed him back in his chair: “Goodness, this makes total sense now.” 

Does this sound familiar for you? 

Whole company aligned on positioning you built, redid homepage to reflect it yet, new pipeline remains drier than your in-law’s stuffing. It’s easy to point blame especially, when we don’t know what our audience wants answered. 

It suggests why industry experts blame: 
1. Stale sales assets 
2. Jargon-filled homepages 
.3AI-driven product positioning

I get it — I was a proud member of that blame-game too. But immediate relief in CMO’s eyes revealed what hid in our plain sight: 

“Industry best practices speak to industry egos.
Full website audits sees what your audiences wants answered.”

Less best-practice blame, more website audits first.
