In 2020, I left a miserable HR job. No savings, no backup plan. Just fear.

My dad was furious. 

Understandably, I had just walked away from what so many considered a golden opportunity.

I felt like a failure. 

But deep down, I knew I had to make a change. Because staying meant being stuck in a life and career I had no passion for. I was also trapped in:

🛑 A relationship I thought would last forever
🛑 The house I had lived in for 25 years
🛑 And Sundays spent with my mom’s delicious rice and chicken stew

It seemed too comfortable for my growth.

So, I took the risk. Learned social media management and quit my job.

With no formal training, I hustled day and night, looking for internship opportunities. After months of rejection, a marketing and brand manager for an Edtech company took a chance on me.

It wasn’t easy. But that first step opened doors I never imagined.

Since then, I’ve worked with some of the biggest tech brands across Africa and beyond. Today, I manage social media for a New York-based startup, earning 100x more than I did back then.

In my current role, I’ve:

1. Helped monetize our YouTube channel
2. Created the company’s top three viral posts
3. Increased brand presence on LinkedIn and Twitter.

Yesterday was day 1 as we took off with Ralphpublishers at our new facilities.

I look back and realize that in my final year as a student, my goal was solely applying for jobs - never saw myself as having my own business. 

Fast forward, and now I create jobs and I'm hoping to create numerous jobs in the economy over the next years. 

Our goal is to become one of the best, if not the best, in our niche in South Africa. 

I am learning that being a founder is not fancy, but it's actually a lot of work—building a team, managing finances, content creation (today I shot like 6 videos in different outfits lol), handling operations, making big decisions daily. It's rewarding, but demanding.

We're expecting to grow our team over the next months and publish as many authors as possible.

We aim to serve leaders and help them amplify their voice through book publishing. 

I'm excited about the new turn my life is taking and the development.

Stories work.

Not because they're clever or well-written.

But because they make people dream.

When you write something; a book, an article, even a sales page, you're not just putting words on paper.

You're giving someone else your dream.

That's the real opportunity that comes with writing. 

Make your reader dream with you.

You don’t need to be a better writer.

Here’s what you need instead: 

You need to be a clearer thinker.

Most people think their book isn’t working because their writing is bad.

So they:
• Buy more templates
• Use more AI
• Rewrite the same chapter 10 times
And still feel stuck.

Because the problem was never their words.
It was their thinking.

When your ideas are foggy, your sentences become heavy.

When your message is unclear, your writing feels forced.

No amount of editing can fix that.

That’s why two people can write on the same topic 
and one sounds powerful…
while the other sounds generic.

Not to teach you how to “write better” —
but how to think clearly enough that your writing becomes effortless.

We’ll work on:

• Turning vague ideas into sharp messages

Coaches who close clients aren't the smartest.

They simply master at least 2 of these 3 principles:

1/ Content that solves problems

Notice I didn't say "write content."

Everyone writes content but not every content turns attention into leads. Not every content turns leads into clients. The content that does focuses on solving real problems.

Here's what content that converts does:

- Educates (tips)
- Demonstrates (workshops)
- Proves competence (case studies)

2/ A DM system that works

Forget about the "Hi I loved your post, I help CEOs get leads" approach.

This will end in the archive folder. Or in the trash. Or you'll simply get blocked.

Great DMs are conversational and position you as a guide.

3/ Closing skills

It's one thing to book calls, another to lead them, and another to close them.

Good coaches will book calls but are unable to close. Great coaches know how to ask the right questions, navigate the call, and most importantly—they don't fear objections. Closing on LinkedIn is a system and an art that can be learned.

But if you master at least 2 of these, you'll be ahead of 90% of people.
