You know how entrepreneurs struggle with everything, everywhere, all at once? Yep. So do I.

Given the fact that I am now old enough to remember the comet that killed the dinosaurs, I've made so many wild mistakes across so many industries and so many attempts to be an adult, that I figured that I had better be honest about it. Firstly, because someone, somewhere might have photos to prove what I did in the 90s. Secondly, because age comes with a certain level of "don't give a damn" that I am enjoying leveraging.

So what do I do?

1. Create a lot of content online because I enjoy it and I am an attention-seeking show pony.
2. Train organisations in digital skills, AI adoption and speaking confidence.
3. Train individuals in all those same things in-person and online.
4. Buy distressed retail and food/bev businesses, fix them and grow them.
5. Train small business owners Australia-wide on behalf of Meta AU/NZ.
6. Deliver digital advisory services for the ASBAS Digital Solutions program.
7. Deliver an innovation and entrepreneurship program for Darwin Innovation Hub.
8. Write long lists of things that I do.

The 2026 LinkedIn Australia Jobs on the Rise shows how organisations are transforming for this new era of business…

Here’s what stands out for me…

✅ Tech + Trust = Growth
AI Engineers, Directors of AI and Chief Risk Officers are all in the top 15 fastest-growing roles. This confirms my belief that we Aussies hate talking about innovation, but we do it. In Australia innovation is more of a verb than a noun.

💡 Transformation needs both acceleration AND control
Organisations are hiring for capability as well as strategic guidance of emerging tech. That’s a big shift and slightly concerning since we don’t like talking about innovation. 

👥 Human skills still matter
Organisational Development Managers, Founders and Strategic Partnerships Managers are also growing rapidly, signalling that leadership, culture and collaboration remain central to future success.  

📍 Beyond jobs + towards future readiness
This data tells us where organisations are investing their talent capital:
🔹 Innovation with accountability
🔹 Strategic partnerships
🔹 Skills that combine tech + people + purpose

👉🏽 For leaders planning workforce strategies in 2026, the lesson is clear:
Invest in capabilities that balance bold transformation with sustainable, human-centred execution.

All this reenforces my point that Execution Intelligence will be the number one skill for leaders in 2026. 

The differentiator is no longer what you know, it’s how fast you can move once you know it.

LinkedIn Jobs on the Rise 2026: The 15 fastest-growing jobs in Australia

Maybe the future IS about reinventing the wheel? I posted this product on Twitter and got roasted. Here’s what people got wrong…

This is the HP Elite Board G1a, an entire computer built into a keyboard. And it has some formidable specs:

AMD Ryzen AI 300 Kracken Point CPU
Up to 64GB Ram
2 TB HDD
Can power 2 x 4K Displays
Built in speakers and microphone


I posted it on Twitter saying I found the form factor really interesting because for decades we had entire computers built into screens.  Over time these became thinner and thinner. And now we’re looking at putting computers inside keyboards. 

I got roasted by people using some colloquial derivative of, “Duh, nothing new” and replying with photos of the Apple II, TRS-80, and the Commodore 64, all popular keyboard computers from the 1970/80s. 

But they’re all missing the point. 

The form factor isn’t new. The use-case is. 
Here are the trends it taps into:

🔹 Bigger Screens
After The Covidness, many upgraded their home office setup to include bigger monitors or multiple monitors in the name of productivity (or gaming 😏)

🔹 Hybrid Work and Wellness
While many employees preferred to work from home, workplaces began a major push to have everyone return to the office. I feel like this affected people’s desire to do work on the go. Instead, work is done either at home or at the office. Cafes are now predominantly for coffee or catchups.

🔹 Hyper-Personalisation
Humans are creatures of comfort. We live in an era where we can tap on our device and summon food, transport, and even a potential life partner to our door. Whatever we watch or search is tailored to us based on predictions of what we like. We are now optimised for our utmost pleasure and convenience and have become less tolerant of people, thoughts, and things, that don’t fit our world perfectly. 

Stacking these trends up gives you context as to why this is a great product built for a very specific use-case.  I’m keen to see how it goes in the real world of work.

I think sometimes we do need to reinvent the wheel, but personalise it. As Malcolm Gladwell said in his TED Talk, “There is no such thing as the perfect pasta sauce, but rather perfect pasta sauces (plural).” 

🎯 Key question for leaders: 
How can we hyper-personalising our products and services?
