But it’s also a terrible North Star.

Not because money doesn’t matter.
It does.

But because profit often hides the real problem.

You can be profitable 
and still lose motivation.

You can “make it work”
while slowly draining momentum.

When founders say the business isn’t working, it’s rarely a money issue first.

It’s usually something earlier.
Something quieter.
