I work with leaders to intentionally design remote organisations & ways of working, laying the foundations for rapid scaling, long-term organisational health, and a globally distributed workforce.

I spent 2021 at Oyster, scaling their fully-remote (globally distributed) company from 14 to 500 people (and a $1bn valuation). Which was absolutely wild.

I work mostly at the intersection of system design, human behaviour, remote work & operations. I'm convinced that knowledge work has no borders and the "remote work revolution" has the power to make the world a fairer and more equal place for everyone. Globally distributed companies are the future.  And the remote workplace should be diverse, safe & supportive for all.

I talk about "Organisational Health" a lot because healthy orgs feel calm when ploughing through unknown waters at 1000mph and can operate on the edge of chaos without being chaotic: much better for our people, and our business. Since systemic health problems have a disproportionately large effect on distributed remote teams (and quickly compound with scale), I'm on a mission to help folks be more intentional about how they design & transform remote-first orgs.

☆	A small business venture I started up with a friend. 
☆	I ran the administration, marketing and advertising of this business as well as handling customer service and managing bookings. 
☆	This venture was highly successful from the start in an incredibly short space of time and went from strength to strength with our customer base increasing each month. I achieved this by combining both traditional advertising methods locally and by using internet advertising, marketing and social media to grow our business. 
☆	As more people have smartphones these days allowing them to access any information they are seeking from anywhere, I designed and built the websites and put greater emphasis on increasing our footprint across the internet and mobile to attract new customers. 80% of our customers book through our website. 
☆	We also have a high number of returning customers because of our unique “all inclusive boarding package” and other services we provide becoming a “one-stop shop” meeting a dog owner’s needs. 
☆	We are a fully licensed and insured specialist dog boarding kennels employing experienced kennel hands and professional dog handlers. 
☆	We see ourselves as providing a much needed service for dog owners meeting a huge demand for decent and trustworthy kennels for when owners are away from home. 
☆	We fill a huge gap in the market; especially in London and its suburbs where dog ownership is increasing and only a small number of boarding kennel businesses are in operation.

A team of independent event management professionals I brought together and I managed full-time on occasion but mostly part-time around my main jobs to supplement my income.
☆	Mainly worked with other private top end nightclubs, bars, promoters and event management companies throwing events for corporate events, product launches, record launches, after parties, celebrity VIP parties. 
☆	I managed and led a small team of “nightlife entertainment hosts” or what I called “social fixers” who were all well connected individuals within the film, television, music and fashion industries as well as in the nightlife industry. 
☆	Because of this we were “in the know” about the most exclusive parties and events; being promoters of these bespoke high-end parties at upmarket nightclubs. 
☆	Organised, hosted and managed events, parties, holidays abroad and short weekends away
☆	Became a lifestyle concierge for our young affluent clientele. 
☆	Landed new accounts/business for the company; attended meetings with club owners to close deals and finalise terms of events. 
☆	Organised the performances on the night as well as promoting the event and ensuring attendance from members of the entertainment industry and the press. 
☆	My main business centred on promoting weekly events and running priority guest lists at different nightclubs helping to ensure they were attended by the target audience aimed for. 
☆	Acted as booking agent for VIP tables to all major A-list nightclubs and some restaurants throughout central London every week where we earned our money through commission paid to us by the clubs. 
☆	I used the internet, built and managed a website and used SMS text messaging marketing services to grow our business in which I built up a database of our patrons of around 5000 at our peak.

☆ I worked here part-time alongside my main jobs throughout the years assisting with various product launches and events.
