My Story

Three years ago, I moved from Holland to the Portuguese mountains to escape burnout.

It didn't work.

Working 8am-10pm. Phone at dinner. Snapping at my kids - I remained stuck in survival mode.

My chest was tight. Mind racing. I'd lost the ability to feel what my body was saying.

That wake-up call changed everything.

I stopped trying to push through my dysregulation and instead started treating through somatic work and regulation.

Now I help other sensitive and neurodiverse founders do the same.

The High Cost of Silence: Why Polite Teams Often Fail
Our conference room was deathly quiet, despite the fact that our project was four weeks behind schedule. Everyone nodded, smiled, and agreed with the status quo, while the real issues remained elephant-sized and unaddressed.


Early in my leadership journey, I mistook a lack of argument for a sign of a healthy culture. 

We had a culture of "False Harmony." Our team meetings were efficient, professional, pleasant and completely sterile. 

But beneath the surface, disengagement was rotting our productivity. People weren't speaking up because they didn't trust that their opinions mattered - or worse, they feared the fallout of being the "diffident" voice. 

We were polite, but we were losing.

The shift happened when we stopped avoiding the tension and started leaning into it. We realized that our "peaceful" environment was leading to disengagement, a lack of clarity and a siloed culture. 

We decided to stop being "nice" and start being "kind" and this meant having the courage to challenge each other’s ideas in real-time.

We learned that constructive conflict is the heartbeat of a high-performing team. 

When we embraced creative friction, our results transformed:

1. Vulnerability-Based Trust: We admitted mistakes early, which lowered everyone's guard.

2. Productive Ideation: We improved "buy in" because every voice was heard.

3. Radical Clarity: By arguing through the details, we emerged with a unified front and zero ambiguity.

Is It Just Me? Why My Claude CoWork Experience Hit a Wall
I’m a huge advocate for AI-driven productivity, but I have to ask: Am I the only one struggling to get Claude CoWork to actually work for them?

I value craftsmanship and premium execution. Usually, Anthropic’s models are my go-to for high-level reasoning and nuanced leadership frameworks. But lately, my experience with the CoWork feature has felt less like "seamless collaboration" and more like "managing a distracted intern."

I’ve hit a few walls that are hard to ignore:

❌ Context Amnesia: We start building a strategy, and halfway through, it loses the thread of the previous three steps.
❌ Technical Friction: For a tool designed to streamline workflows, I’m finding myself spending more time troubleshooting the interface than actually innovating.
❌ Output Inconsistency: One minute it’s brilliant; the next, it’s giving me generic "fluff" that doesn't meet the standards of a high-performance team.
❌ Wrong advices: Guiding me to dead-ends and going in circles to close it by apologizing. 
❌ Deleting valuable files: during a request to reorganize folders and files. 

I’m a believer in the "Architect of Intelligence" mindset. I don’t expect the tool to do my job, but I do expect it to keep pace with the speed of a scaling venture. 

When our tools add more friction than they remove, it’s a direct tax on our focus and our planetary impact. Efficiency isn't just a metric; it's how we respect our most limited resource: time.

The truth? Behavioral intelligence is a data-processing task. It’s not about guessing; it’s about observing specific, repeatable cues that reveal how a person needs to be led.

I learned on the field -  An Athlete’s Journey to Leadership
Many times I thought the entire world existed within the four lines of a basketball court, when I was a young athlete. I was fast, relentless, and, very proud of my individual performance.


I lived for the adrenaline of a solo breakaway. To me, at that time, leadership meant being the player who took the final shot winning when the clock was at zero. I was proud of my speed, proud of my scoring average, and deeply competitive. 

But then I met this new coach.

He didn't just teach us how to run a full-court press; he taught us that a star player in a broken system is just a high-performer heading toward a loss.

The turning point came during a championship game where I was "on fire," yet we were losing. My coach pulled me aside, not to praise my points, but to point at the bench and the other four players on the wood. 

He told me: "You’re playing a great game, but the team is losing. Decide right now if you want to be a hero or a champion."

That moment shifted my entire trajectory. It was the first time I realized that collective success isn't just about sharing the ball — it’s about the regenerative power of a high-performance ecosystem. 

Here is what that court taught me about building ventures today:

⭐️ Performance is a Team Sport: In business, as in basketball, individual KPIs are a baseline. But the real differentiator is "Peer-to-Peer Accountability." If you aren't holding each other to the standard, you aren't a team; you're just a group of people in the same jersey.

⭐️ Trust over Politics: My coach prioritized psychological safety before it was a buzzword. We could admit a missed assignment without fear of reprisal, which allowed us to fix errors in real-time.

⭐️ The "Disagree and Commit" Principle: We didn't always like the play call, but once we broke the huddle, we were 100% committed. Ambiguity is a tax on execution.

Today, whether I’m scaling an AI product or refining a company culture program, I don't look for the person who wants the hero shot. I look for the leader who builds the framework so the whole team can't help but win.

That competitive drive I had as a kid hasn't left — it just evolved. 

Now, I’m competitive about how much impact we can create together for people and the planet.
