People, Culture & Transformation Lead - Australia

Talent and Organisational Development (OD) lead for 4430 employees plus c800 agency workers across two Business Units, Highways and Environmental Services:

• Take the lead on all OD, talent and change projects to enable better business outcomes.

• Develop best practice and commercially viable talent and resourcing strategies to deliver business objectives and create real business value.

• Work in partnership with the Group Centre of Excellence on talent management to execute Group wide practices, and additionally influence upwards to ensure the business needs are reflected in such plans.

• Work alongside the HR Directors and Heads of HR in developing and improving leadership capability and specific HiPo talent planning initiatives.

• Personally coach senior Executives in order to increase and sustain performance and determine career planning required.

• As part of the Senior HR Team have responsibility for influencing, upskilling and collaborating with the wider HR teams and mentor several HR Managers across various specialisms.

• Contribute to engagement, communication and people plans to ensure business objectives are achieved and propose appropriate projects or interventions to improve the overall effectiveness.

OD & Talent Human Resources Business Partner

Member of the Senior Management Team leading, influencing and shaping people strategy and business performance. Lead on Trade Union engagement and liaise with various external stakeholder groups. 

SMT member in Area 9, a Strategic Highways contract & Walsall Streetlighting. 

Additionally cover Group Functions including Finance, HSEA, Bidding, Commercial and Business Development. 

HR HSEA lead for the Government Division of Amey.

HR Business Partner - Birmingham Highways PFI

Delivered the HR implementation plan for AmeyCespa, a Waste Joint Venture, and Group Functions by: 

• Partnering and supporting the Senior Management Team
• Providing proactive, professional direction and support
• Acting as a commercially aware, focused, business minded HR Partner 
• Delivering a value added HR service to the business
• Applying best practice HR solutions that meet the business needs.

HR Business Partner - Waste Division, Local Government

Managed a team of 10 Advisors & Administrators who recruit at all levels across the business of 11,000 employees

• Responsible for delivering change management and shaping resourcing principles and influencing strategy.  Investigation and establishment of best practice where applicable. 
• Responsible for ensuring Time to Hire SLA’s are met every month and query management is within targets.  Improved time to hire by 60% and query management resolution by 65%.
• Ensuring success and achievement of wider recruitment objectives such as: cost per hire, agency spend, preferred supplier management.
• Recruited a new team in two months, inducted, trained and established best practice guides.
• Project Lead on integration of Recruitment and ERP System – Responsible for determining project scope through to delivery and training across the business.
• Responsible for all line management tasks including absence and performance management, establishing a competency framework in the function, disciplinary etc.

HR Manager - Recruitment & Resourcing

Managed a team of HR Advisers who resolve generalist HR queries from the entire business via processing high volumes of emails and calls ranging from complex to straight-forward HR queries and transactions.

• Recruited 8 new members and turned around an under-performing team to consistently meet and surpass SLA’s for query and transaction management. First Time Resolution rate increased to 98%.
• Reviewed all Helpdesk processes and identified improvement areas to improve performance and establish a culture of first-class customer service and drive SLA increase. 
• Created a specialist payroll front line team to resolve queries quickly and accurately. This helped to proactively reduce the amount of payroll related errors and allowed investigation into HR areas such as contractual changes, recruitment etc. which resulted in errors in payroll.  
• Lead and coached 11 advisors within the team on employment law, policy guidance, and customer service training.  Developed an internal training programme for the department, linking development to a competency framework.

HR Manager - HR Helpdesk

* Coached operational line managers and supervisors in HR issues including disciplinary and grievances cases.
* Provided employment law and practical advice on statutory employment matters such as working time regulations, grievance and disciplinary, redundancy, equal opportunities, diversity and employment contract variation.
* Designed and delivered Investors in People (IiP) training across selected contracts in order to achieve Silver IiP Accreditation.
* Supported HRBP in for mobilising Aviation, BAA contracts, TUPE transferring c.700 people into Amey across Edinburgh, Glasgow and Terminal 5 Airports over a three month period, ensuring the smooth transition of incoming employees.

HR Manager - Home Office

* Reported into Group HRD in order to gain experience of Strategic HR. Relied upon for discretion, professionalism and the ability to influence the stakeholder group in a credible manner.
* Operated within a Senior HR environment, preparing presentations and reports for major stakeholders including CEO, Executive Team, Managing Directors and HR Directors Involved in creating the HR Branding Strands including Talent, Learning, and Recruitment etc.

HR Executive Assistant

* Cascading objectives to Account Director’s and throughout the business via Dashboards.  Produced monthly statistics and developed improvement plans around each aspect e.g. HR, H&S, and Customer Service etc.
* Analysed Employee Engagement Surveys for whole of Consulting and produced a recommendation report for line managers to highlight areas of development and strengths and an action plan to improve engagement levels.

Business Improvement

Graduate Scheme covered placements in all major business functions in a busy manufacturing and logistics plant. Moved into Business Improvement, latterly reporting into the Managing Director to lead on a Business Matrix Project with the objective to ensure all employee's understand the Groups’ vision, targets and objectives. Worked across all business units in the UK to design and implement a business dashboard. Gained solid experience of Kaizen, a Lean Management Discipline, in order to identify and improve processes in order to eliminate non-value added activities and increase business performance to improve the bottom-line.
