Dave spent 20 years in the US Navy, the majority of which was spent in Cryptology supporting special operations in both the INDOPACOM and CENTCOM areas of responsibility.  Dave deployed to Iraq, Afghanistan, and the Philippines, and had surface force deployments in the Mediterranean, North Atlantic, and Western Pacific.

He is an expert in Information Warfare operations against the PRC/CCP, specializing in Military Deception and Cyber Operations.

Mental Wellness Wednesday 

As we begin a new year, it’s easy to focus on doing more. Mental wellness often starts by strengthening what already supports us.
 
One simple framework I return to is the 4Ms: 
- Movement – Motion regulates mood. Consistency matters more than intensity. 
- Mind – Pay attention to your internal dialogue. What you repeat becomes what you believe. 
- Meditation – Stillness creates space. Even a few quiet minutes can reset the nervous system. 
- Meaning – Stay connected to purpose, people, and what grounds you. 

You don’t need a complete overhaul in January. 
You need alignment that’s sustainable. 

If the year feels uncertain, that’s okay. Start with the foundations—and let momentum follow.

If this resonates, take a moment to reflect on which of the 4Ms needs the most attention right now—and consider checking in with someone else, too.
