Developed and introduced a new reporting methodology and mechanism which integrates multiple measures within one interface to increase data utilisation and management of day-to-day activities. Recommendations for corrective actions with probability of success are also shown based on Predictive Model outputs.

Debt Collection Predictive Model - Developed and implemented a collectability model for Debt Collection; the model enables debt collectors to work on debt cases with the highest probability of payment, thereby reducing the total case load and increase efficiency. The implementation of this model brought on a new era in the way the organisation utilises information and analytics to improve processes and performance.

Assisted the World Bank with a Macro Economic modelling exercise regarding the effectiveness of Corporate tax incentives in the current tax system. The outcome of the study was used as input to the Davis Tax Committee on possible tax reform changes.

Provide insight to Executive & Senior management on possible behavioural shifts of taxpayers and changes in submission and payment patterns, quantify future risk factors with probability of occurrence and highlight possible solutions.

Developed and managed the Submission Forecast models used to track submissions of Taxpayers and Employers during both filing seasons. The Filing Season submissions and Forecasts are the official view of the filing seasons in the organisation.

•	Investigate and assess system generated alerts to determine whether activity is potentially suspicious and should be reported, including:
-	Implementing the AML Transaction Monitoring procedures, Sourcing and gathering of client and transaction information, Profiling of client and related parties. 
-	Analysis of the client and transactional data to determine whether activity is consistent with client profile or is unusual / suspicious.
-	Where necessary, engaging with Bankers/Stakeholders to gain an understanding of a client’s profile, activity and transactional trends.
-	Make a decision with regards to the transaction and either sign-off as not suspicious or log a suspicious transaction report (STR).
-	Escalation to Financial Crime Compliance and senior leadership where required.

Suspicious Activity and Transaction Monitoring Analyst: ICIB – Regulatory Operations 

•	Monitor the suspicious activity for the Private Banking business to mitigate the risk of Money Laundering, by investigating and assessing system generated and ad hoc alerts, as well as payments, to determine whether activity is potentially suspicious and should be reported. 
•	Work closely with the Client Due Diligence team and provide transaction monitoring support where required. 
•	Assist in identifying trends and patterns to improve effectiveness of suspicious activity monitoring.  
•	Maintain a current understanding of money laundering and terrorist financing issues, including policies, procedures, regulations, industry best practice and developing trends.  
•	Assist with money laundering related queries, requests, and enforcements orders received from regulatory bodies, e.g., Section 27, 32 and 34 requests from the FIC, as well as from Correspondent Banks.  
•	Actively engage with Compliance, stakeholders, and bankers to develop information flows in relation to client activity, transactions and other relevant information.  
•	Adhere to service level agreements, tracking and monitoring and quality risk management on behalf of Private Bank.

Suspicious Activity Monitoring Specialist

•	Review existing high-risk base in order to assess true high risk and PEP (Politically Exposed Persons) relationships.  
•	Conduct enhanced due diligence for each of these clients. Assess the risk associated with existing clients and new clients coming on board with the bank.  
•	Conduct thorough background investigations on clients, referred by an automated AML risk model.  Contact clients via email, sms and telephone.    
•	Interact with various business units regarding shared clients.  Assist the business to make risk-based decisions in relation to clients. 
•	Conduct REID from start to finish on high-risk clients (prep, contact and KYC complete) and integrate this information into my assessment of the client.

Enhanced Due Diligence Analyst

•	Investigate and report unusual and/or suspicious transactions that may fall within the ambit of money laundering and accordingly report to the Financial Intelligence Centre (FIC) to ensure Nedbank meets regulatory requirements.  Investigate Subpoenas (S205) where the account was found to belong to a suspect and report to the FIC.   
•	Refer certain cases to other stakeholders of the Group Forensic Services. Submit reports and monitor if reports were successfully submitted on GoAML on daily basis.  
•	Adhere to submitting all reports to the FIC within 15 days.  Manage a case system and closed cases timeously. Referred matters to other clusters (e.g. Retail, Corporate banking etc.) to consider off boarding clients who may pose risk to the bank.

Investigator - Money Laundering

•	Action alerts allocated daily from our Anti-Money Laundering Detecting System (Actimize).  Monitor all matters and alerts allocated in terms of productivity. 
•	Analyse and fully understand the Suspicion Report/source of suspicion.  Collect all relevant data and build information frameworks.  
•	Analyse data and investigate further of whether to substantiate or eliminate the alert.

I am currently employed at Investec as a Suspicious Activity and Transaction Monitoring Analyst – ICIB Regulatory Operations since March 2021.  I gained extensive experience, working at Nedbank within Group Forensics as an Investigator: Money Laundering and started at Investec in July 2019 as an Enhanced Due Diligence Analyst.  I have acquired a Criminal Justice and Forensic Investigations Certificate and have obtained NQF Level 6 Certificates in Money Laundering Detection and Investigations as well as Money Laundering and Terror Financing in the Banking Industry.  I have a clear, logical mind with a practical approach to problem-solving and a drive to see things through to completion.  My main objective is to secure a challenging role in an organization that will benefit from my initiatives, capabilities, and contribution. I am especially interested in a position with the potential for advancement and simulating activities that will not only advance my personal growth but that of the team and organization as a whole.
