I’ve spent most of my marketing career focused on Marketing Operations (at companies like SnackNation, Oracle, ChowNow, ServiceTitan, and Clearbit). BUT, I have a love for all types of marketing because to be great at Marketing Ops - you need to be well versed in all of marketing. I struggled with self-doubt for most of my professional life. 

Being the youngest and most pampered one in the family can make you dependent on elders. 

I left home for college at 17, and things suddenly changed. I was on my own in a stranger's world. 

I decided to give up and go back home after the 1st year. Even my roommate thought so. 

But then we thought, why waste a year? 

We got each other for the next 3 years. 

He was good at figuring out the tech stuff and the ways around the new city, and, unknowingly, I became dependent on him. 

My first business was, in a way, a form of pampering, with many people around me guiding me at every step. 

But this was not college; this was the business world, which is mostly brutal to soft, underconfident people. 

The same people who were there to guide me ended up misguiding me, and they took some wrong turns, too. 

I took an exit in mid-2019 and started figuring out my own path, where I would have no one to blame for life going well or badly. 

I lost trust in people, 

But fortunately, I started trusting myself for my decisions, my failures, and my wins. 

Pandemic gave me much-needed time to think and build . . .   

1. I did a world record-holding book project with Rohan Chaubey & Parul Agrawal 

2. I crossed 50,000+ followers on LinkedIn within 8 months 

3. I ended up building 3 of my best-selling courses, and 5 different communities around startups, freelancers, creators, Selfhelp. 

4. SUCCESSBREW was initiated as a byproduct of all the networks I built in the past 12 years, and we have worked with some of the most amazing brands and communities. 

5. Helped 100+ freelancers grow from 10-20K INR  per month to 200K INR per month income. 

Funny part is, I still end up doubting myself whenever I have to do something new.

Matt Gray and Simi Arora shared some similar stories about their journey today. I paused and thought of sharing my side of the story, too. 

A takeaway: No matter where we are, what we are doing, we all go through a personal growth journey while building a business or anything purposeful.

SaaS Launches and LinkedIn Influencer Marketing with 300+ Creators | Community Builder | Podcast Host | Content IPs

Sometimes I wonder how an average guy from a traditional business family turned his life into something meaningful and something that excites everyday. 

Till 23 I had no clue 🕵️‍♀️ about what I will be doing with my life. 

I was just another mechanical engineer 👷studied from a tier 2 college. 

1. No confidence 
2. No specific skills 
3. A useless degree 📜 
4. No passion 
5. Confused as hell 

Got a job because my father knew someone. 

Laptops and smart phones were not so common in my world. They were very expensive 🥹 

Fortunately I had one goal 🥅 in mind. To be financially confident by 32 🤣🤣 

How, I don’t know 🤷‍♂️ 

I knew 9-5 earning is not going to cover expenses. 

I entered into e-commerce and direct selling universe early only to get out empty handed after 6 years. (The nativity of only making money stole a lot from me) 

Here are few things that helped me build myself again without money 💰 

1. Learning from YouTube channels of Vishen Lakhiani Patrick Bet-David Tom Bilyeu 

2. Power of writing ✍️ content, which helped me sell my first course in 10 countries. 

3. Habit of meeting strangers and learning their best things. Executing it as it is gave me initial success before innovating anything. 
Sam Baisla and Pia Singh 🧠 knows my copy paste mechanism. 

4. Learning the power of communication in all formats. I am not an expert but I know my way around making friends and retaining them. 

5. I didn’t start creating content for the sake of building a personal brand. I did it for the impact and brand became a by-product. 

6. Collaboration over competition. 

7. Building a community when community was not a thing to push products 🫰 

8. Helping people around me grow better than myself. It’s a pleasure to see them where they are today. 

9. Reading 📖. Priya Kumar’s books changed the way I look at life and I have never found a better storyteller. 

Then Life happened, Got busy with personal life and so many other things. 

By the way I did achieve my goal by 32 😀 

2023-2026 has been a slowing down journey. 

It’s time for this old dog 🐶 to learn new tricks. 

Suggest me a skill and a YouTube channel which can give me another hit like 2019.

The problem of my life is not that I am not able to achieve something. 

The problem: as soon as I know I can achieve it, it is no longer exciting for me.

Here's the math that made me question everything I knew about content marketing:

Pseudo "successful" campaign:

100,000 views 
2% CTR → 2,000 clicks
5% trial signup (cold traffic) → 100 trials
10% conversion → 10 customers
$50/month ACV → $500 MRR
Cost per acquisition: $5,000 😱


The "failed" campaign:
100 views (we laughed at them 🤣)
10% CTR → 10 clicks (high intent!)
30% trial signup → 3 trials
50% conversion → 1.5 customers (let's say 2)
$800/month ACV → $1,600 𝐌𝐑𝐑
Cost per acquisition: $0

Wait... what? 🤔

The difference? 

Their 100 people were actively searching for a solution at 2 AM.

Our 100,000 people were passively scrolling on Instagram.

I learned this the hard way 

63% of search-intent video views convert to qualified leads. 

Less than 5% of algorithm-driven views do.

Here's the worst part:

While you were celebrating your "viral" video, you were actually training the algorithm to show our content to people who would NEVER buy.

More views = more wrong audience = worse future targeting = higher CAC over time.

It's a death spiral disguised as success. 📉

The shift that changed everything:

We stopped asking "How do we get more views?"

We started asking, "How do we show up when someone searches for their exact problem?"

100 people Googling "how to fix X problem in Y software" at midnight are worth more than 100,000 people watching a trending reel.

Because at midnight, they're not browsing. They're buying. 💳

The brutal truth about vanity metrics:

Your CFO doesn't care about views. 

Your investors don't care about impressions. 

Your customers don't care about your engagement rate.

They care about one number: Revenue per content dollar spent.

High-intent = High-revenue. 

High-views ≠ High-revenue.

I'm not saying viral content is useless.

I'm saying if your SaaS is optimizing for views instead of search intent, you're playing the wrong game entirely.

What percentage of your content budget goes toward "views" vs "solutions people are actively searching for"?
