I'm Daniel from Bremen, Germany. I studied industrial mathematics in my bachelor's and master's with a focus on deep learning. I've led the development of a skin cancer detection system as a student researcher throughout my master's. I did my PhD on neural network architecture search.

Next to work I'm a passionate and ambitious triathlete, participating in world championships and becoming world champion in long distance aquabike (which is triathlon without running) in 2022. 

I also love to play chess!

As a student assistant at the Zentrum für Industriemathematik (ZeTeM) at the University of Bremen, I am deeply immersed in the cutting-edge hyBit project, where I contribute to optimizing hydrogen technologies for Bremen's industrial transformation. My work involves mathematical models, implementing optimization algorithms, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to design sustainable energy solutions.

With a solid foundation in numerical analysis, control theory, and industrial mathematics, I am particularly passionate about addressing real-world challenges in energy optimization. My recent focus includes comparing solver performance in linear and non-linear energy systems, allowing me to leverage my technical expertise to advance innovation in renewable energy technologies.

Prior to this, I gained hands-on engineering experience as an Assistant Engineer at ABC Real Estate Ltd., where I monitored safety, costs, and scheduling for construction projects, oversaw electrical wiring, and implemented preventive maintenance schedules. My journey in engineering began as a Maintenance Trainee at Ispahani Tea Limited, where I focused on machine maintenance and operational efficiency.
