Saw this and smiled.

It took me back to school when my brain misfired and I called the teacher "mum" in front of the class. Instant silence, followed by raucous laughter.

This Reddit exchange is the grown-up version.

A tiny, unfiltered human moment slipping out in a professional setting. 

And instead of awkwardness, it’s met with kindness.

That’s worth celebrating.

We spend so much time polishing ourselves to sound impressive, competent, and in control. 

And yet the moments people remember are when we accidentally let the human through.

Here to write. If it goes viral, it’s not because of me. It’s because it’s true.

My boss’s phone started ringing.

We were mid-conversation in his office. Nothing dramatic. Just catching up.

This was years ago, back when phones were plugged into walls, so you really noticed them when they rang. 

He just let it ring.

After a few rings I said, half joking, “Are you going to get that?”

He didn’t even glance at it. Just said, “This is more important.”

That was it.

I was young. Fresh out of uni. He was genuinely busy. 

But in that moment, he made it clear I wasn’t an interruption. I was the priority.

I honestly can’t remember what we talked about next. I never found out who was calling or what it was about. 

What stuck was the feeling. Being taken seriously. Being worth his attention.

That’s the difference I’ve noticed over the years.

Some managers talk to you when they have free time.

Leaders free their time to talk to you.

You’re a woman who wakes up exhausted and doesn’t know why.

Your sleep is broken.
Your thinking feels cloudy.
Your body doesn’t respond the way it used to.

You’re told this is normal.
That this is just part of getting older.
That you should learn to live with it.

When something helps, you don’t know why.
When nothing works, you start to wonder if this is just how life is now.

I get it.
I’ve been there — from the other side of the exam room.

I practiced medicine for over 20 years and watched women come in saying the same things.

“I’m not sleeping.”
“I can’t think clearly.”
“My body feels different.”

And too often, they left without real answers.

They were told it was stress.
Or aging.
Or something they just had to live with.

It never made sense to me.

Because what they were experiencing wasn’t imagined.
It wasn’t weakness.
It wasn’t a mindset problem.

It was menopause-related hormonal change.

Some of these women were still cycling.
Some weren’t.

What they shared was this:
Their symptoms had reached a point where lifestyle changes alone were no longer enough.

So I changed how I practice.

Now, I work exclusively with women experiencing menopause-related symptoms who want medical guidance that actually makes sense.

No guessing.
No endless supplements.
No being told to “just deal with it.”

⚡️ Here’s what I know:

Menopause symptoms are real.
They are hormone-driven.
And they deserve to be taken seriously.

⚡️ Without dismissal.
⚡️ Without confusion.
⚡️ Without pretending you should be fine.

The problem isn’t you.
It’s not having clear, medically grounded options.
