Let's talk about the lie nobody on LinkedIn wants to admit.

"Just learn a tech skill and you'll get hired."

Really?

Then why are thousands of people with certificates, bootcamp badges and course completions still unemployed right now?

Because knowing how to do the work and knowing how to get the work are two completely different skills. And nobody teaches the second one.

No course covers how to build a portfolio when you've never had a real client.

My wife asked for a little tea.

Being up in the middle of the night 🌉 isn't a recipe for long-term success.

When the market is competitive, it’s easy to assume the solution is to apply more, post more, or push harder. Sometimes that helps. But often the bigger shift comes from stepping back and asking a different question:

If someone looked at my resume, LinkedIn profile, or recent work, would they immediately understand the value I bring today — not five years ago?

Small positioning changes can make a surprising difference:

	•	emphasizing the strengths that match where you want to go
	•	simplifying the story instead of listing everything
	•	making it easier for others to quickly understand your direction

In a slower market, clarity becomes an advantage.

Companies are hiring word nerds to leapfrog AI generated jibber jabber.

It makes sense. As AI content becomes the baseline, human storytelling becomes the differentiator.
