One in ten jobs in the North West are now in the creative and digital industries. The purpose of UTC@MediaCityUK is to swell the pool of talent for the industry to recruit from. My role is to help UTC@MediaCityUK bring the gap between the creative digital industry and the next generation of it's workers. 

Why? 

Because the creative and digital industries depend on innovation, so it’s vital that skills continually evolve. Yet it’s also widely accepted that there’s a shortage of people with the necessary abilities – whether academic, technical or practical – to meet the industries’ needs.

Diverse Sussex

Diverse Sussex is a Silicon Brighton initiative. The common goal is to ensure everyone has equal access to opportunities in Sussex’s technology sector.The aim is to build a comprehensive understanding of inclusion in the tech sector in Sussex. Companies who sign up share anonymised data to build a picture of the work to do. And signatories can access a toolkit and join exclusive events. With a growing list of signatories, companies who sign up show their commitment to this work, and share their ongoing desire to learn and drive change. 

Watch This Sp_ce has been involved with Diverse Sussex since the beginning, with work during the pandemic lockdowns in 2020 and through to the initial launch in September 2021.

Achieving high results and recognition in previous  role, I was promoted to this role in 2013 leading the global sales, marketing and customer services team at e2v. Selling into a range of market sectors including marine, industrial, medical, science, broadcast, aerospace and security to exceed annual order intake target of £80m. Experienced in recruiting and developing the right talent to deliver results. Energetic and driven leader, involved in many transformation and employee engagement initiatives.

In 2015, selected as one of twelve candidates for e2v's Fast Track leadership development program for high potential employees. This program linked to Nottingham University Business School focused on leadership skills, with training in different business areas, including finance, strategy, recruitment, team development, mentoring and coaching.

Vice President - Global Sales & Marketing

Recruited to hunt for new business as a Sales Manager in UK and European markets managing key accounts and hunting for new business with targets up to £13m per year. In this role I closed a major new design win contract for a fast jet program and negotiated and closed the highest value renewal contract in e2v's history of £40 million with a radiotherapy machines manufacturer, which made it into the national press.
