One in ten jobs in the North West are now in the creative and digital industries. The purpose of UTC@MediaCityUK is to swell the pool of talent for the industry to recruit from. My role is to help UTC@MediaCityUK bring the gap between the creative digital industry and the next generation of it's workers. 

Why? 

Because the creative and digital industries depend on innovation, so it’s vital that skills continually evolve. Yet it’s also widely accepted that there’s a shortage of people with the necessary abilities – whether academic, technical or practical – to meet the industries’ needs.

Some of the projects also take me into the direction of filming and editing, interior layouts, signage and product display. The emphasis throughout everything was original creativity.

My two main roles were...

1 - Developing and delivering brand and range extensions for Whittards Tea and Coffee. This involved the development of premium brands and the associated packaging materials for the products. All supported by the in-store point of sale materials and backed up with strategic press advertising.

2 - Creation of the Co-operative foods own label packaging ranges. I delivered numerous frozen, ambient and chilled product ranges. Working with the client's buying teams to develop a portfolio
of products. The position enabled me to develop my skills for creative direction, outsourcing and collaborating with various third-party illustrators, calligraphers, printers and photographers.

I also worked with the team to deliver the launch of the Lego Club in the UK - creating activity packs and club merchandise. Using quirky, unusual format printed mailers and supporting media to engage the audience with the brand extension and encourage further buy-in and loyalty to the brand.

Whilst at college, I undertook a placement with the global branding agency. My role was to integrate into an existing creative team, delivering concepts and design development. Working with the team on Zurich - developing a new brand positioning and brand equity, developing a presentation to key board members and CEO's. I also worked with the team on British Airways inflight communication, lounge and airport interior/experience branding including signage, info-graphics and other in-flight information.

What that buzz looks like will be different for every type of business. Whether it’s “maintaining your market share”,  ”shaking-up the environment your products live in”, or “the opportunity to change perception and enter new markets”.

The success of the 'buzz' is focused around personal relationships...working with the right people...
individuals who understand your business, your direction and your budget.

The approach is simple… we work closely with clients to co-create marketing, advertising and design solutions, that deliver effective and measurable bottom-line results. This can be applied in lots of ways (it's long list...here goes) - mobile, web, intranet, micro-sites, landing pages, websites, e-commerce, social media, online ads, video, events, retail spaces, print, POS (Point of Sale) and more. On the more technical side, we have delivered various UI and UX interfaces for online portals and e-commerce solutions across devices and apps.

The solution will often include printed literature  - everything from complete re-brands and brand guidelines through to brochures, information packs, exhibition graphics and all manner of other 'printed' communication in-between.

We have also delivered successful, national press and magazine advertising, TV and radio, packaging and point of sale creative solutions for clients both big and small.

Shirt designs that are inspired by tech. A look we call GeekLux. We design and develop unique surface patterns and hand-make beautiful shirts that tell a story. Every design has something to say, a story to tell and some of them say it louder than others.

DressCode is a small, slow fashion studio, creating high quality designs, produced using sustainable materials and processes, minimising the impact on our planet. DressCode operates with a tightly knit team, punching way above our weight. Our dynamic approach and delivery has seen us connect with customers around the globe.
