Policy,  Strategy and Commissioning Manager responsible for development of adult social care services, management of major operational projects, strategic commissioning, market development, contracts management, policy and strategy development. Manager responsible for coaching, mentoring and staff development of several teams including policy and strategy, market development and contracts.

The role involves managing a team to deliver improved outcomes for social care customers through  contracts monitoring, commissioning of efficient services and development of new services. 

Budget management includes delivery of efficiencies through effective commissioning of service to avoid duplication and provide better outcomes for customers.

The role involves initiating and driving change in response to customer feedback, market analysis, service reviews and various local and national factors. This includes reviews of services as well as setting up new services to better meet the needs of customers. 

As well as policy and strategy development, the role also includes analysis of complex information from a number of sources to provide reports and briefings for a number of stakeholders including directors, elected members and MPs.

Policy, Strategy and Commissioning Manager

Responsible for projects involving implementation of new legislation, modernisation of services and delivery of efficiencies. This included a new model of support for local residents with social care needs as well as a campaign to keep people warm and healthy during winter months.

Led on customer engagement which included development of an award winning peer support scheme for customers, setting up an audit framework and carrying out stakeholder consultations. Produced a stakeholder engagement guidelines for the Council.

Carried out reviews of services and initiated changes based on the results of the reviews. This included a commissioning of a new model of advocacy services for customers.

Managed the public information team and projects.

Responsible for all publicity materials, press relations, website management, public events and consultations.

Introduced new communication channels including online forms, customer feedback forms and publications in pictures / symbols for people with learning difficulties.

Researched local and national sources of support and prepared information packs.

Represented clients at Social Security tribunals.
