I was 60 lbs overweight, drinking to cope, lost $250K in potential earnings, and in a miserable career that no longer fit. 

So, at 40, I took a bold step: I reinvented myself in every way.

I left the only career I knew with no idea and not job; just the gut instinct that I had more to offer.

Ah, it has been a great Journey. 

2 small businesses are still around and looking at my colleagues growing who are maturing is so heartfelt. 

As a founder, I owe a duty of care to my partners. Especially my network whom had shown so much trust and love to me ❤️

Yes, clients are important. 

Colleagues are important, however Without my network and friends , businesses would have been ex-businesses. 

Every year, I want to pay tribute and acknowledgement to them. 

Frankly, without these small head start given to me by you, I wouldn't had a chance to compete with the big boys. (you know Who you are, bros and sisters 😆)

Growing from nothing is hard. 

Sustaining something is hard.

Being bigger and stronger is even harder.

So, I say, many thanks to all my friends and network here and afterall, it should be about time to see if I can reciprocate back.

It is another Lunar New Year and it is a practice to add another year to our Roman calendar too.

Being old is one thing, being wise is another.

1 cent nugget - Warm Welcome

When I started my Corporate career, I was just getting a job. 

Yup, a job to take care of my family. 

Slowly, it became a financial pursuit. 

As I got older, I realised that working hard won't get me the money. 

I started investing into stocks. 

Well, got burnt many times however it made me smarter and avoid certain theme stocks. 

As I gotten more savvy about finance, I got greedy. 

Yes, who isn't if there is a chance to get super returns. 

I guess what I have got was super stupidity. 

Guess that's Life, and we learn to rebound from it.

Just like Entrepreneurship,  no one will be there to teach us everything. 

Sometimes, we stumble. We don't get it right all the time. 

At least we tried. 

Happy Lunar New Year and with the Horse cometh, it will be my 7th year of this entrepreneurship.

Will I get better, only Time will tell.

It is incredible to say the feeling on How we view the growth path of each businesses.

As they grow in size, I tend to feel a little intimidated.

Who is everyone now. 

Am I spending enough time speaking with them.

Or perhaps, how personal should I be for each of them. 

Colleagues are key to each company in my view. 

Everyone is important and everyone is requested to be performance driven. 

Firmly, as we grow, Agile 8 remains committed to giving performance driven delivery. 

Why - because we don't have too many clients. 

We have great clients  only 🤣

As we have our Chinese tradition - Lunar Year End Dinner, we herald the upcoming Year of the Fire Horse in Chinese Lunar Calendar soon.

At 54 years old, I don't ask for more. 

Steady business and health to see through the growth of my daughter

Don't we wish for many things. 

Wealth, smooth career path, health and many other reasons.

Wishing is one thing.....Living it is another.

Same as an entrepreneur. 

You may not want to spend your Life chasing after money and success, that you forgotten to Live your Life.

Sometimes, we may wish for many things however ultimately, only one thing remains true. 

Your family and You.

As I sit by the road side near Frankfurt, I had  an urge to start looking at my handphone.

Yup, checking emails and see if there are any important messages.

I knew I had colleagues who had taken care of almost everything. 

This is so Corporate, I remembered telling myself. 

As an entrepreneur, it is difficult in the starting years. 

For me, 3 years is about being tough and difficult. 

The next 3 years was even harder. As I kept on grinding, I knew that everyone benefits afterall. 

My colleagues, clients and network. It is a friendly ecosystem for us all.

You will walk and fall as an Entrepreneur. 

When the time is right, have a sit. Be it by the roadside, kerb or maybe a stool.

Starting out is tough already and there is nothing more fearful, than to give up what we have started. 

Of course, there are some of us who have taken the entrepreneurial journey and went back to Corporate.

To me, thats amazing as these experiences will definitely be put to good use.

1 cent nugget  - What have I Done 

What have I done? 

Well, thats the question I had asked myself after I had tendered my resignation. 

In a way, the imaginary rock on my  shoulder went off like an avalanche. 

Then I started planning. Yes, holidays. 

First was to Australia for 3 weeks. 

After I had left my job in August, I spent another 3 weeks in Japan. 

Then I went to South Africa. 

During these time, I had this same question  on my mind. 

Covid 19 then came. Those who had went through knows How difficult the times were. 

Frankly it was uncertainty that was the number one fear. 

I thought to myself, well, I had just started and I have nothing to lose. 

Just be patient. 

After 6 years, my corporate secretarial businesses grew and I had made so many friends too. 

Online and offline.

Sometimes, the answer comes before the question. 

Why - Because You already had it figured out. Don't fear and don't Ask. 

You will walk your way out of this. ❤️💕

1 cent nugget - Where Does Your Path Go

As an entrepreneur, I have seen quite a number of new business owners burn out.

They tend to do everything themselves. 

Often than not, they ask around to find an answer and try their hands on the things.

In the end, time is spent and focus is lost. 

Worse still some tried and fail. Then they get in the experts which cost more. 

I am one of them. 

In the beginning, 6 years ago, I was the Head of IT, Finance, Marketing and Sales, Call Centre and also General Manager.

I did everything as I was new. 

It was really tough. 

Yes, I have learnt along the way however as my business grows, these functions eventually was given out to the experts.

Once we have chosen a path, my view now is to focus on them. 

How about You? 

Aren't you tired of doing everything and being Everything to Everyone. 

I have been there. 

Chart your path and focus on What you Do best. 

Leave the rest to the rest.
